It's been pretty well observed that the "woke" people take particular pride in saying, "I just don't get it." Every worldview that they find reprehensible is a view that they will virtue signal about not understanding.
Sometimes I wish I could be a leftist.
I hate Nazis. I hate everything about Nazis. They're the scum of the fucking Earth. I can't spend enough words attacking Nazis. Still, I understand what drove them. I think that I'm a better person for understanding what drove them and being honest about it. Just the effort that I put in to understand the hatred toward the Jewish people exposed me to a great deal of knowledge -- not the least of which the concept of "middleman minority's."
I get the Nazis; and, as a result, I know when AOC is echoing the Nazis. I know when Antifa is echoing the Nazis.
It would make life simpler for me if I couldn't understand the Nazis; but, I do. They're awful human beings; but, I can articulate their awful worldviews and I'll be attacked by self-proclaimed liberals for that understanding.
On the flip side, I get why leftists are attacking J. K. Rowling for attacking a Scottish law that would put men who identify as women in women's prisons if they're found guilty of rape.
I get it while I hate it.
If you've spent years of your life shouting "Transphobe!" at anybody who dares to say that gender shouldn't be something that you can declare without any checks at all and support giving hormones and even surgeries to young children who are exhibiting some sort of gender confusion, it's hard to say that a criminal shouldn't just be able to identify as a woman on a whim and be intellectually consistent.
The problem is that you're letting your desire to remain intellectually consistent allow you to become philosophically perverse. You are so devoted to not being proven wrong that you've become pro-rape.
Again, I get it. I understand you. If I didn't understand you I wouldn't hate you as much as I do.
