Ahead of IWD '18

It's International Women's Day (IWD) tomorrow, Thursday, March 8,2018. I've been reading up about how International Women's Day came to be. Here's one of the many things I've found out.

IWD started as an act of some 15,000 women who way back in 1908, marched New York City to demand for 3 basic things:

shorter working hours,
better pay and
the right to vote.

These 15,000 women didn't keep quiet or look the other way over perceived injustice to the woman folk. So, don't keep quiet where there is an injustice being done to one for

injustice to one is injustice to all.

There act was a seed that would later germinate into what we now celebrate as International Women's Day. For March 8 to be, Clara Zetkin went the extra mile for the seed sown to grow and bear fruit.

Clara Zetkin suggested the idea of having International Women's Day in 1910 at an International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen.

100 women from across 17 countries were in attendance and they agreed to this idea. You see how much we can achieve as women when we stand in Unity.

Enough of backstabbing other women.
Stop being the reason that man wouldn't go home to his wife and kids.
You shouldn't be the reason another woman will be denied a job or contract when she's qualified.

Let's stand as one and defend the cause of Womanhood.

Happy International Women's Day in advance.
