Visit by Apasen International and Phoenix Primary and Secondary School At Women Empowerment

in women •  7 years ago

I would like to share my second projects which was visited by Apasen International [L] and Phoenix Primary and Secondary School [L]. They also visited my first project @SchoolForSDG4 on 2 February, 2017. Women Empowerment was founded to facilitate local underprivileged women in Sylhet. Many girls stop their education after a certain level because of family decision. They even can't work or empower themselves. Girls get marriage between age 14-18 years because of poverty.

To make the project successful, I wish to find any expert who will help me to train these women and girls considering their economic conditions. I met a women, Jesmin begum who have been working with handicraft for more than 25 years. Here, she is with me, we were holding a wall mat which was done 25 years ago.

Display to show our work to guest from Phoenix School and Apasen International. I founded the Women Empowerment on 7th January, 2017 though we have long way to go through.

Guests were observing our work.

They also joined with our trainees and worked with them for a while to know how they work.

Shelina Mannan( Teacher, Phoenix school, UK) observing work of Mahmuda. Mahmuda stopped her education after Higher Secondary School because her Father is a day laborer and he can't afford to pay for her higher education. I wished to help her but I can't help financially. I am trying to train her so she can empower herself and can start education, business or job.

Veronica , ( Deputy Head teacher, Phoenix School, UK) leaning sewing from Shefali. Shefali is a women who got married at the age 11-12 . Her daughter study at @SchoolForSDG4 for more than a Year.

Here is the full video of their visit:
