This is an excellent description of most of the women I know, and the ones who were my role models growing up. I think we need more female characters like these in TV shows, movies, and books.

I know a lot of Alpha women, too :) the best examples to follow. I am not even talking about their support and wisdom that they shared with me.

I am married to an Alpha female - she is a gem... long live Chika san!

hahahahahha say hi to her :)

I am not sure that equality in everything is something that men would be happy about. Men like to be of help, feel needed.
The most prosaic example from my life is that my husband never wants me to lift heavy things (believe me, I can, and I did it a lot earlier). I had to learn to allow him this courtesy of taking care of me. In this case my choice was to refuse the physical equality and admit that my husband is stronger than I am. Though he knows I could do it all by myself, he's grateful for the chance to take care of me.
Also, what I see around me is that strong women usually end up with weak men, and thus everybody is happy - a woman can be in her comfort zone and proceed to be strong in everything, the man is in his comfort zone and nothing bothers him. This is maybe the easies way of partnership, as their interests usually do not overlap and contradict.
To my mind in a relationship between a strong woman and a strong man there always would be needed compromises from both partners, because both partners have some vital principles and life standards, and it's merely impossible that those are identical for both of them, and sometimes the desires of one partner are in some conflict with the desires of other partner (e.g. both of them want to lead the relationship).
I'm a happy one to meet a partner as myself - the both of us both lead and compromise in our relationship, it's like hybrid alpha/beta person. :D

that's good news :) relationships are complicated.
