Celebrating Women's Day with my gang

One of those days when we women get all the attention. We do not need such special days for attention because I personally believe that if a women is not valued on a day to day basis then hyping up just one day does not make any sense, rather it is all a business opportunity. That's what happens with all these days right? Valentine Day, Women's Day, Mother's Day, some 20 years back no one paid attention to it, but yes the sentiments were there. Now everyone celebrates but how much sentiments are there god knows. It is more of a business then anything else. If one believes in a Woman, they would not need these special days to celebrate :-)

Sometimes I feel that this fight of Women Empowerment and all is just a show, when it comes to closed doors, man who have to ill treat their woman continue doing so with all the hypocrisy in the outside world. Some of us have such good lives that we do not even realize what some of these women go through. After all the Women empowerment, respect propaganda the rape rates have not come down. They are rather increasing by the day. In some parts of the world a woman is not allowed to step out of their home without a man. A man can go out late night alone, but a woman cannot. A man can drink, a woman cannot, a man can work but a woman cannot. Then we celebrate a Women's day :-)

This fight will keep going on. The world still needs a lot of change, it's not an overnight shift that will happen. Don't know if it will ever happen also, because this has been going on since centuries. With God's grace, I have been born in a environment and family where I have never had to face any gender based challenges. In my case, it is funny, if I go soft, my hubby gives me a kick saying, come on don't laze around...hehehe

Nevertheless I never miss any opportunity of celebrations. We went to one of the Clubs in the city called Radio Club. While most of the places in the city had some special event for the Women Day celebration, again a business opportunity...right...but at the club they did not have any. It was a regular evening.
We were a bunch of ladies and when ladies meet it is all fun, specially with out loud voices we filled up the space with fun and laughter.

We selected the corner table so that we could have our fun. It was a fun filled evening with a lot of gossips and cheer and yaaa also talking about our hubbies.

They gave us a complimentary cake as a part of our celebrations. It was a yummy delicious cheese cake.

I wanted to get Roses for each of my girls. In the evening before our meet I stepped out and to my surprise all the flower vendors in my area were out of stock. All the Roses were sold off. Good business for them.
Anyways we had a wonderful time and made ourselves felt special.

There was a funny joke going around yesterday.....
Practice makes a man perfect.......Then what about Woman?
She is born perfect!!!!
