A representative of the studios referred to a report that was widely circulated in the media yesterday, calling it a "lie." At the same time, the studios decided to stay ahead of the film in a month and a half to avoid a meeting with Star Wars 9,
A report from the New York Post's gossip column turned Sunday into the talk of the entertainment industry, with the news of an ultimatum that Gal Gadot placed before Warner Studios for Wonder Woman 2. But a spokesman for Warner Studios responded to the Los Angeles Times, calling them a "lie." Other sources who spoke to the newspaper off the record claimed that there was no real story.
As mentioned, the original report claimed that Gadot threatened to leave the big sequel starring, if the production company of Bert Rattner - suspected of a series of indecent acts and sexual harassment - will be involved. Ratner's RatPac has signed a production contract with Warner Studios, which has covered 75 films, and has financed some of Wonder Woman's costs. But the contract is due to end in the spring of 2018 (a year and a half before the release of "Wonder Woman 2"), and in any case was not supposed to include the sequel.
Regardless of the length of the contract, Warner Studios has already announced severing ties with Rattner following reports of sexual harassment he was involved in. Gadot's representatives declined to comment.
In parallel to the Gadot-Ratner affair, Monday was officially announced that the date for the distribution of Wonder Woman 2 would be advanced. As early as September, it was suggested that the sequel would be moved out of the original date (December 13) after Disney announced that the third and final film in the new Star Wars trilogy would arrive on December 15. In order to avoid a meeting with Disney's huge movie, Wonder Woman 2 will be screened on November 1, 2019.
