Director Patty Jenkins’ superhero extravaganza Wonder Woman has crossed the $300 million mark at the domestic box office. It’s been an exciting month for Wonder Woman. After the character’s supporting turn in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, she finally made her big screen solo debut in early June.

Starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince, the film was a smash out of the gate, pulling in more than $100 million domestically and $223 million globally in its opening weekend. On top of that, the film marked the best opening weekend of all-time for a female director for Jenkins.

After two weeks as the No. 1 movie in North America, Wonder Woman yielded the box office championship to Cars 3 last weekend — but had plenty of steam to power past the $300 million this week. According to Deadline, Wonder Woman made $7.3 million domestically on Friday to achieve its latest milestone, and when ticket sales are tallied Sunday, it is expected to end the weekend with more than $319 million in its coffers.

In addition, if the film stays on track to make $26.17 million this weekend, it will become the best fourth weekend ever for a Warner Bros. release (director Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight currently holds the record having grossed $26.11 million in its fourth weekend in 2008).

With no signs of slowing down, Wonder Woman is primed to become the highest-grossing DC Extended Universe film within the week, as it should easily pass Suicide Squad’s domestic total of $325.1 million and Man of Steel’s tally of $330.3 million. It still has quite a way to go to become the highest-grossing DC film of all-time, however. The Dark Knight holds that record with a domestic total of $534.9 million, followed by The Dark Knight Rises, which made $448.1 million at the North American box office in 2012.

Where Wonder Woman will end up in ticket sales is yet to be seen. But given the immense popularity of the film in the United States and abroad, it’s sure to boost the anticipation of Justice League, where Gadot, of course, will reprise her role as Wonder Woman.

Furthermore, the blockbuster success of Wonder Woman’s first solo outing means that Wonder Woman 2 is a virtual lock. And while the sequel hasn’t been officially announced by Warner Bros nor has Jenkins been named as its director, she is reportedly already working on a script treatment for Wonder Woman 2 with DC Comics Chief Creative Officer and DC Films head Geoff Johns.
