Feel like your body is functioning too well?

Does your blood pressure seem to be stuck at boring old normal?
Do you wish you could get medical advice from an untrained, utterly unscientific source?
Well, Jilly Juice might just be for you!
With enough salt to make even Lot's wife jealous and the stated benefit of EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA (seriously), how can you resist?
Heard enough? Want to get in on this latest (anti)health craze? Just click HERE!*
*Anyone even remotely familiar with us won't be surprised where this link takes you.

Jillian Mai Thi Epperly, the creator of this potion, recently backed out of an appearance on the popular YouTube channel The NonSequitur Show where she had agreed to engage in a discussion with Melody Williams, a 4 degree scientist & science communicator. Can you blame her?

Epperly (not a doctor), has no scientific education or training whatsoever to back up her claims.
Her extensive experience in the insurance industry evidently did not prepare her for any discussions involving real science.
Unsurprisingly, the show went on anyway in her absence.

Jilly Juice

Jilly Juice is made by allowing cabbage, water and a metric f#ck-ton of salt to ferment at room temperature for a few days. Then you just drink a gallon a day.
Be prepared to expel bad stuff like candida, a species of yeast commonly residing in humans, that Epperly blames for just about every malady, via "waterfalls."
If you read the opening paragraphs to this article, you already know what "waterfalls" are.
Here are a few of the wild claims made about this appetizing beverage:
“Jilly Juice” can:
  • Reverse aging
  • Cure AIDS, diabetes, cancer and Down Syndrome
  • Regenerate damaged organs
  • "Cure" homosexuality
So far, it seems to have all the hallmark claims generally associated with the pharmaceutical known as "Snake Oil".

But what about all that salt? Here's what the Harvard School of Public Health has to say about excessive salt intake:

In most people, the kidneys have trouble keeping up with the excess sodium in the bloodstream. As sodium accumulates, the body holds onto water to dilute the sodium. This increases both the amount of fluid surrounding cells and the volume of blood in the bloodstream. Increased blood volume means more work for the heart and more pressure on blood vessels. Over time, the extra work and pressure can stiffen blood vessels, leading to high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke. It can also lead to heart failure. There is also some evidence that too much salt can damage the heart, aorta, and kidneys without increasing blood pressure, and that it may be bad for bones, too.

High blood pressure is a leading cause of cardiovascular disease. It accounts for two-thirds of all strokes and half of heart disease. In China, high blood pressure is the leading cause of preventable death, responsible for more than one million deaths a year.

In response to a scathing review on the Ripoff Report, it seems Epperly had this to say:

My protocol works these trolls have been herassing me for over a year now. It's there parasites and Candida talking! I have cured thousands of people with my patented protocol and I am only moving off Facebook because of a massive conspiracy orchestrated by big pharma and the government. They have to keep us sick with vaccines GMOs and their genetically engineered diseases so they can keep making money and mind controlling us. All you people are paid shills and if you tried my protocol you would be suddenly and extremely enlightened, you would wake up instantly. Regarding the guy that died he DIDN'T STICK TO THE PROTOCOL ENOUGH. He couldn't handle the healing symptoms at all he was on hospice and I was trying to be his savior by encouraging him to utilize my protocol. Everyone claiming the salt content was hazardous doesn't know this isn't ordinary salt but sacred pink Himalayan salt, which is better than regular salt. Regular salt is 50% sodium and 50% chloride this stuff has all kinds of healthy organic minerals!! As for the kids all I am doing is helping them heal, what kind of parent doesn't want the best for their children? Really? Wake up.
There ya go... By the way, the "guy that died" had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was apparently found unconscious and extremely dehydrated. Hmmm. Now what could cause severe dehydration?
Note the appeals to conspiracy theory peppered throughout.

We truly hope that the alleged trolls stop herrassing(sic) her.

In Conclusion

Our concerns here at Science Strike Force are the following: In addition to the lack of any credible evidence of benefit from this product, certain individuals may not seek conventional treatment for illness, disease etc. as a result of the claims made. Additionally, the excessive amount of salt contained in this product may trigger severely adverse effects.
We award this product 5 out of 5 ducks for outstanding quackery.
