Petrified woods are often esthetically pleasing with soft lustre and hues of green, blue and orange beautiful petrified woods are considered semi precious stones and are widely used in lapidary works , and turned into items such as jewellery , clock faces, paper weights and sculpture. Bigger sized good quality petrified woods with unusual bright colours are more valuable.
