DANGER / CURVES AHEAD - hand planning curves

in woodworking •  7 years ago

In this episode of PLANE TALK I focus on how to plane curved shapes. And I also pose the question: Is a spokeshave a plane?

My compass plane is a Stanley Victor No. 20-1/2. There are other versions of Iron and steel body compass planes and you can also make wood planes with fixed shaped soles to accomplish the same task.

I hope you found something helpful or at least entertaining.

How are these tutorials not getting more exposure? It may not be much but I resteemed and upvoted you. These video's are freaking awesome, I have an old #6 that I picked up at a yardsale for $1 and am going to tune it up. Now that I know how. Thank you and keep up the phenominal work.

Thank You,

I thought they would also have allot more views ... Enjoy !

In the future You may want to replace the first tag with DIY and remove hand. That would put it in the trending and new for the DIY group, Also if you put a tag of steemmakers it will get upvoted by the steemmakers bot as they try to curate those that make stuff...

Definately keep the woodworking tag, and perhaps throw a tool tag in place of plane. I am not trying to be a downer I just noticed that I get more results with the generic tags as the specalty ones only apply to those specifically looking for information on planes. I came in via the woodworking one.

Very nice vice you have there.
