Glad you like it. We actually don't use stain on our tables. The beautiful colors that you see are the patina that is naturally created due to the aging process of the wood being exposed to the elements for hundreds of years. It's nearly impossible to recreate what mother nature is capable of!

That's unbelievable! How deep into the surface are you able to sand before you start eating into the patina?

We're able to sand the heck out of it without losing the patina. We typically only start eating through the patina when we plain the wood. Even then, the wood that we use is so old that it reveals the beautiful tight grains of the heart wood. So it's a win/win situation.
