Holy moly its cold out there

in woodworking •  7 years ago  (edited)

As the temps here hover around 20 degrees I am fully aware that will have a minus in front of it before long. When I signed the lease to the new house he did say the garage was insulated........... Hmmmm so during my visit to drop off some boxes I looked around and while it is insulated so was my last house and it ain't enough......lol... So I will be looking into a garage heating system that I either won't mind leaving behind if I move ( which I don't plan on) or one that is portable enough to take with.... Walking the short distance from the house to the garage with a foot or more snow on the ground will be a lot more tolerable if the garage is nice and toasty....plus the lumber won't freak out so much and I might actually be able to put some finish of some things.....so have fun in you warmth and pray I found my answer.....lol....www.stogeebluesbox.com. - www.facebook.com/angelsong13/

Heating can be a real problem, especially for finishing and glueing up like you say. I had a saw dust burner which solved two problems. If you set it right you can slow burn a bag for hours or get rid of it in 20 minutes.

A lot of them i see around here are ceiling mounted units. But heat rises so how is that gonna work

And I was just thinking I might need to start putting on socks in the morning in my shop.

I knew id get a smart ass remark from you....lol......i still have so cal blood in my viens so dont like the cold in the shop

I will be switching from ice tea to hot tea in the mornings to warm up.
