Live edge oak dining table - Our first

in woodworking •  7 years ago

This was our first live edge dining table. We got some very nice 8 year old and air dried local oak slabs for this project. As a finish Tung oil was used.
Final dimensions of the table are 200 cm x 107 cm +/-

Slabs were 220 cm long and 5 cm thick. There were some worm holes on the edges so we sprayed it with anti-worm spray and let it dry for a week.

After first coat of Tung oil, it needs 5 more in next 2 weeks.

6 coats of Tung oil gave it a very beautiful color.
