Just gonna hit you with some facts from a case I've been following..

This 20 year old woman, Monalisa Perez from Minnesota, pled guilty last week to second degree murder charges for fatally shooting her boyfriend, Pedro Ruiz III who was 22.

The pair have a YouTube channel where they would post videos of pranks and stunts. In what they thought would be a 'sure fire viral video' the two concocted a genius plan for Ruiz to hold an encyclopedia to his chest and have his girlfriend shoot him with a handgun.

They weapon they chose was a .44 caliber desert eagle.

If you don't know it's one of the most powerful handguns on the planet, like it's rediculously powerful and you should be smart enough to know this if you're gonna possess one and take pictures of yourself with it in your underwear.

Ok I'll go on..

So anyways, Mr. Ruiz had to plead with Miss Perez to shoot him because she was hesitant about the stunt at first, but she's a good woman and wanted to make her boyfriend happy, so they set up a couple cameras and she got ready to unload on his ass.

Here's where it gets even more rediculous, Mr. Ruiz was apparently adamant that she only stand one foot away and fire the .44 round into the book while he held it up to his chest.

"Hand On Head Obama" knew this wasn't gonna work out well..

The bullet went through the encyclopedia and through the young man's chest too and he died shortly after.

Miss Perez, who is now pregnant and also has one other child with the slain man, is in alot of trouble and faces 10 years in jail.

Another day in 'Murica

I would call that a form of Russian roulette, but it depends on the language of the encyclopedia I guess...

Nice one, I'm pretty sure it was an English encyclopedia but u know it didn't say for sure in any of the articles I've read. Thanks for the support @briggsy!

Oh! GoldenArms! Please! Don't get me started! Let me just say. Man, that is a sweet, Pistola 44ah.

Destined to spend the next 30 years in an evidence locker, until some cop accidentally "looses" it during inventory one day.

Yeah I've always wanted one honestly but the wife ain't having that. She wouldn't shoot me in the chest with it 😞 I'm lucky to be able to have a rifle, she won't shoot me with it either

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes...

Bummer the kids will grow up with out a dad and mom for awhile, but maybe the time away from mom will help them gain a few IQ points so they don't repeat the same idiotic mistakes of their parents...

Yeah I set out to just give the facts and not make light of the situation but its too rediculous. I kinda feel bad..

This is a sad story with a tragic ending but I firmly believe in Darwinism and natural selection.

That definately went thru my head

Mine too but I didn't want to write it down.

That's one scary looking gun, sounds like a very foolish thing to do. Maybe they should have used a bigger book. Wait I bet a bible would have stopped it.

We should try it Pheli! Meet ya in Toronto ok?

I've seen something similar in my home town while I was in highschool. A kid from my school, year or two younger than me and similar type kid, wanted to scare his girlfriend by acting like he was going to shoot himself. All smug because he had emptied the clip, gun against his head, he forgot the one in the chamber. Ended up shooting himself in front of her and couple of our friends. Luckily for her there were enough witnesses she did not go to jail.

Personally I was glad I grew up with guns around because I learned to respect and use them without doing crazy shit like this.

Wow, tragic. Yeah most know and respect firearms and their danger, accidents happen but man..this didn't even sound like a little bit of a good idea. A .44 is a hand cannon, maybe a .22 but still you shouldn't shoot a gun at someone unless u want to kill them

I was actually taught not to even point a gun at someone unless you mean to kill them.

I see this type of thing more from kids that did not grow up using guns as a tool. Like kids from inner city that only saw them in movies or gangs and thought they look tough or something.

Generally you don't hear of farm kids doing these things.

Wow how terrible for children to have to witness this kind of event.

Guns are not toys, people need to be properly educated before they ever touch them. Children should not be aloud to play with guns without direct supervision.

These were high schoolers so like 16-17 years old, not small kids.
Definitely correct though. you should be educated in proper gun safety before ever handling one.

Yeah, I'm gonna pass on this reply. I mean, I am gonna reply, just not say anything that contains actual words, like real ones. There seems to be something about this thing, that could have went differently if they did a different thing.

Lol hilarious reply! Yeah things went wrong and if different things had of happened there could have been different things happen for sure

Posing with it in your underwear for a picture says it all.

You gotta feel for their children.

Yeah sad, do u think they're destined to grow up dumb too?

I’ll be optimistic and say no.

As soon as I saw what gun was used, I thought yes, that will go through almost anything at that range. Tragic.

OMG! How, what, whyyyyyyyy. Where is the parental supervision for these postteens?

As ridiculous as this is it is also heartbreaking for the families who surround them. I can't understand how between the two of them they thought this would be an ok idea. I feel terrible for their parents, their children. Monalisa from Minnesota is going to have to live with his death on her hands for the rest of her life.

If everyone jumped off a bridge would you?
