18th Aug 2018 is known as Serendipity Day.

Serendipity... one of my favourite words perhaps for the sheer joy & understanding it conjures up due to its meaning

The definition is “happy accident” or a “pleasant surprise” & is linked to unexpected good things that cross your path, the unspoken notion being that when they do, you're "In the Zone", life is flowing with ease & is "as it should be"

The word was coined in the mid 1700s by Horace Walpole who created the term from a Persian fairy tale known in English as The Three Princes of Serendip.

The story tells of three princes who were banished from the kingdom of Serendip (Sri Lanka) in order to prove their worth. As they wander the world, repeated & numerous “serendipitous” moments occur to them.

And much like children’s stories, by "accidents & sagacity" the princes  just happen to run across the perfect place or the clue to solve the mystery

Reading about the meaning behind this tale reminds me of a book I read 21 yrs ago which has always stayed with me; Celestine Prophecy

Again, it demonstrates not just about being in The Zone but more, how helping others can 'get you there'.
