You’re sitting at your desk, thinking that you have 6-7 hours of work left until you get out and are free to relax and have fun. You have a cup of coffee in front of you and you’re looking at an endless task list that are waiting to be done, some from yesterday, some from last week, and you’re telling yourself that it will be cool if they would solve themselves while you wait for the weekend.
Sound familiar?
My hole life I have struggled with delays and deadlines, of course, no real job, everything online, every deadline put by me. It’s like my organism is made to oppose to any deadline set by anyone else. It’s not that we have too much work to do, but our attention is always distracted by something and we can’t focus on what’s important.
The solution to this could be time management, but you can’t actually control time and whatever event occurs. That’s why I believe that the solution to procrastination is actually self-management.
Meanwhile, I discovered something that changed my perception on my work, projects and deadlines. It’s the simplest thing in the world, but if you apply it, it’s the most powerful weapon. What do you have to do? Start doing something and don’t to anything else until it’s done. That’s it. It sounds super easy, but it’s hard until you get used to it, but I have another trick for you that will make it easier for you to finish your work in time.
It’s called the Pomodoro technique. It implies that you have to work on a task for 25 minutes, then take a 5 minutes break in which you can do anything you want. After that, you work another 25 minutes, then another break. When you’ve done 4 rows of 25 minutes of work, the break increases to 30 minutes, and then you start over.
When I didn’t use this technique, in 8 hours of work I actually worked 52 minutes, and the rest was time wasted. After I started using the Pomodoro technique, in only 2 and a half hours of work I managed to finish all of my tasks. Imagine how much time this will save, and what you could do with all that free time.
The best part is that you won’t be so stressed out and you’ll be able to actually relax, knowing that you’ve finished all of your tasks before the deadline.
Exactly man every time I start myself to get serious about the work , distractions come in a blow me up . Literally I work for 5 minutes and relax for 25 minutes and I couldn’t optimise my work , as a result I would stay longer in nights but do nothing . This makes my health detoriated . I got fed up with my habits .
Unknowing now I’m using the same Promodoro technique in steemit !! , results really seems to be miracles . Thanks for letting me know the technique in deep .

I have used this to very good results. It is amazing how much you can get done this way. I also use flylady.net which uses a technique with 15 minute blocks of time. When you are "on the clock" you are not browsing websites :)

I love this technique and I've used it before. I was actually trying to remember the name last week so I could introduce it to a friend and couldn't remember. You are very timely with your posts!
