Even while positions that allow you to work from home or anywhere in the world are still in high demand among the workforce, businesses are reducing their remote options.
According to a new LinkedIn data, the percentage of remote jobs dropped from 20% in February to 14% of all current listings in September. However, the desire for flexible employment options is increasing: On LinkedIn, remote job advertisements attracted 52% of applications in September as opposed to 50% in February.
Where are all the jobs that offer this desired flexibility, then?

Here are the top 15 companies hiring for remote jobs right now, according to FlexJobs:

While not all of the companies listed include pay ranges in their job postings, some employers, including CVS Health, UnitedHealth Group and HubSpot, provide estimated salaries with their advertised positions — and several of the available remote jobs offer competitive salaries of $100,000 or higher.
For instance, the salary range for a remote account executive on the sales team at HubSpot is between $134,000 and $144,000, while the salary range for a remote medical director at Aetna, a subsidiary of CVS Health, is between $141,500 and $302,500 annually. On the other hand, a remote mergers and acquisitions analyst at UnitedHealth Group who works from New York can anticipate earning between $72,800 and $129,900 annually.
Despite the fact that there are fewer remote job vacancies, Jennifer Shappley, LinkedIn's vice president of global talent acquisition, anticipates that workers will continue to place a high value on flexibility.
Work-life balance and flexible work options, including remote work, are still highly valued by workers despite the pandemic's unclear future, according to Shappley in LinkedIn's research. She said that she anticipates the two qualities to be "top talent drivers" for the ensuing two years.
According to Toni Frana, career services manager at FlexJobs, "your exposure as a candidate could be the key to a successful job search" in a competitive remote work market. Positioning yourself as an authority in your field, participating on social media, and interacting with others could set you apart from other applicants, the author claims.
Additionally, Frana emphasises the value of networking, which can help you stand out in a competitive employment market. There are many ways to meet people who work at remote organisations you're interested in or develop personal relationships in professional, virtual communities on sites like Slack, Reddit, Discord, and LinkedIn.
For remote positions, "referrals tend to receive considerably more momentum than a cold application," as in the regular job market, continues Frana. It's crucial to not skip over this step in the procedure!
