in workout •  6 years ago

Went to the gym fasted this morning, I finished my last meal around 11pm last night so being at the gym for around 12:40pm isn't so bad...

Did my hardcore chest and triceps workout with 7 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical at the end.

Bench press 10 sets of 15 reps

Incline dumbbell press 5 sets of 12 reps

Cable chest flies 5 sets of 12 reps

One arm tricep pulldowns 5 sets 0f 12 reps

Triceps rope pulldown 5 sets of 12 reps

Then the 7 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical.

Pretty solid workout - happy with the stimulus I greated

Intermittent fasting is working for me! I have to be at work at 8am, so I’m normally in the bed by 10pm. I stop eating at 8pm and fast until 11am. If I get hungry before going to bed I drink 12 oz of water with lemon juice in it. I have my heaviest meal for lunch at about 4pm, then workout at 5pm. I thought I wouldn’t have enough energy to sustain weight training and a 6 mile bike ride, but it’s just the opposite! Thanks for sharing your journey. I’m sharing mine too. 405lbs to 285, now I want to drop to 235 lbs.

doesn't it feel amazing?!
Good stuff keep it up, the intermittent fasting is so good for loose skin too, I was worried some parts where I have stretch marks would become saggy skin but I read how intermittent fasting, especially when you get to even longer fasts of 16-20+ hours can use excess skin and waste within cells as fuel...truly feels like a deep clean going on at a cellular level.
Keep killing it!

I did not know that about the loose skin! BONUS BABY!! If I had only known then when I was 20 what I know now, I would have never seen 400 lbs. know better now, doing better now. Gonna resteem your post!

Intermittent fasting is great.

I've heard various stories about trying to lift heavy during a fast. Under some circumstances, it is non-impacting. For some people though, they prefer to have some additional stores of glycogen to help fuel the muscles.

You have to plan accordingly right, so yesterday I had a lot of carbs so I knew I had enough glycogen in the muscles to fuel my fasted workout.
If someone is using keto diet PLUS fasting to try and lose weight they will for sure not see much progress in the gym, they might get a little stronger but if their goal is to lose fat then getting stronger isn't as important yet.

Damn man. You look fitter than Goku ever got

don't get it twisted lol that is not me...I am have not shown myself on steemit.....yet lol

I said F it, and took a pic. I figured I’d be more accountable and people would be able to follow the journey better. Mind you I’m keeping my shirt on. I’d have to have a MUCH better looking body to do that!
