i am not a 5 year old girl who believes in fairy tales and loves poneys. I am a grown up man - mum thinks otherwise sometimes- and i have irrational naive dreams. Come on it's free and legal.
One of my biggest childish irrational naive dreams is to see humans actually act as one species. I mean look at how we live, we have so many differences and that's a fact and even when we don't we invent them. We are one species and we have the same hopes and dreams, we all wish the same things - almost- we have the same challenges, we share the same pains, we experience the same joy. yet all we do says the very opposit.
We divide and descreminate based on skin color, religious beliefs , sexual orientations and any reason we can come up with - you could be hated for your accent for <god's sake-. But it's not really the reason that matters. I think what we're really seeking is that feeling of superiority. That feeling that feeds hate and plays as an excuse as a way to blame all the bad on the evil other.
Maybe this feeling served us well, when humanity was scattered in smal tribes across the land. Survival was hard, food was scarce and it was kill or be killed. Crual but somewhat logical.
Now the picture changes, we are not tribes. We are countries and civilisations, and we don't fight with arows and stone axes, but destructive fire weapons, chemicals and nuclear bombs.
We developed science and technlogy that should and could find answers to existential questions like where do we come from and find cures to fatal diseases like cancer. However, this creative effort was abducted by hatred, and turned into the most hideous creations mankind could come up with.
It is easy to forget a truth that is just in front of your eyes. You get used to it, your brain no longer considers it. And with some external help we start believing we are truly different. That we are better than others. we coulkd be luckier but never better. Because simply wether we like it or not we are one species and we share everything, especialy the same future.
