What Do You Think of Marxist Theory?

I am not a Marxist or communist, but I still find the theory interesting. I address the question from a caller in this clip

What are your thoughts? Let me know in a reply!

This is a nice, useful and wonderful topic. And I always like these topics and looking for them, thank you and waiting for your next topics accept my words

In my brief time studying economics I've come to the realization that all doctrines/philosophies has its pros and cons. And it's going to take a combination of capitalism, communism, marxism etc... to get to a point where wealth and resources are evenly distributed.

The marxist theory although a bit wide and comprehensive in scope is quite vague and somehow unrealistic. It lacks consistency and its almost not practicable in the real world. Take for instance its postulation that socialism can only be achieved by class conflicts and over the years that margin is been widened and capitalism still retained its standing even when karl's theory predicts its end to another state phase. But generally karl marx theory have been of help in helping understand the political, economic and social strata of the society overtime.

How many times a day do you get called a communist, David?

hard to say, we get 1500 YouTube comments per day and it's difficult to look through all of them. Maybe dozens?

A beta cuck communist WOULD forget how many times they've been called a communist! ;)

Marxism is just a particular critique of capitalism, it's very sensible and not a some crazy "communist" ideology.

Not only that, it's separate from "communism"

It's pretty hard to argue with the demonstrable fact that in an unrestrained environment capitalists will do whatever it takes to make a profit.

drwom: it is also hard to argue with the historical fact that if communist leaders are given power a communistic system transforms into a dictatorship every time. And usually a tyrannical, violent one to boot.

I think that the reason for the fall (Marxist Theory) is atheism and the domination of one person to the state.

I think it is cool, brief yet broad

The theory sits uneasily with me, but I feel his conscience in it.

Japanese Communist Party welcomed the collapse of the Soviet Union as the end of a great evil and said the Soviet never was faithful in Marx's contributions to political thought.
