On may 4th, we honor our soldiers who died during WWII in a ceremony called 'Death Remembrance" (rough translation, sorry).
It's a national thing where at 8pm we hold a 2 minute silence nationwide out of respect for our fallen. It has been a ceremony on this date with that intend for as long as I can remember.
Yesterday I learned that there is this individual that wants to launch a noise demonstration in those 2 minutes of silence, because he believes we're celebrating warcriminals, for some kind or another war related transgression The Netherlands apparently made in the past. I’m not even sure which.
Today, on top of that, I learned that this individual is an old classmate (who incidently has been an asshole since god knows when) and a convicted squatter at that.
I just don’t understand why one has to disturb a show of respect for those fallen for our freedom. If you honestly think the ceremony is inappropriate, there are legal ways to pursue.
Don’t be a fucking attentionwhore by disturbing our ceremony !
Sometimes, I just don't want to live in this world anymore. Well maybe not that, because I do, I just don’t want to share it anymore with the assholes that are also living on it.
