Scientists examine an unusual phenomenon in the oceans of the southern hemisphere where a phenomenon is observed - smaller water vortices connected so that they look like a huge source whose parts move in the opposite direction.
Scientists have long known that there are water sources in the oceans, but recently discovered couples have very unusual properties.
They move 10 times faster than the usual vortices, they are connected under water in the form of a Latin letter U, and can travel for up to six months. What is strange is that sucking small sea creatures, which can be dismissed very far away.
The researchers will conduct additional research to find out how their formation was formed and why they act so strange.
"Standard whirlpools, caused by turbulent watercourse movements, play a very important role in the survival of marine life, which raise nutrients commonly found in the deepest parts of the ocean closer to the surface, spreading them in this way everywhere," says Kris Hjuz, an oceanographer from the University in Liverpool.
"It also encourages the mixing of hot and cold water, thanks to which heat is transferred from the equator to the poles. This phenomenon would not be possible without a vortex," Hjuz added.
I’ve never seen photos of a whirlpool. Looks scary being so close to the shore.
