This seems to be a theme that crosses party lines. The left wants to shut down conspiracy-minded commentators on the socials, while the right wants to grant Trump extraordinary powers to violate the first-amendment rights of lefty commentators. Both sides need to get out of this business and let the ideas themselves do battle.

I completely agree. The quote is far too long to post here but Milton essentally wrote that "Truth" should be allowed to "grapple with Falsehood" because she is "strong next to the Almighty." I would remove the religious imagery but his point stands. If an idea is good, it will stand and if it is not, it will collapse under the weight of scrutiny.
