Every one around the world wants to trek Himalayan ranges.
This was my solo expedition to one of the sacred experience at world's highest shiva temple in Uttrakhand state of India
The mystic shiva temple is also worldwide known as tungnath temple, one of the mysterious avartar according to indian mythology🔱. Here when it come to the location it is almost half altitudes of Mt. Evevest that's all make the point of temple so mystic that one can hear the sounds waves in air chanting ""om "" Mystically. One can be totally feel a divine energy at the peak.
The tungath temple of Lord shiva is believed to be 7000 years old and there lot more to the unspoiled natural trek to tungath in its way. But I can't explain the beauty in words it was extremely incredible to have such views of Himalayan ranges out there on the way
here is how I reached tungath and my journey saga.we started at 6:30 A.M from delhi by self drive bike 500 cc Royal Enfield electra and I reached ukhimath around 8:30 p.m same day, as we are on the way closer to tungath trek at night the roads at high altitude were narrowing and with only one head lamp of bike it's to scary to drive in through the elevated jungle roads of 20 feet, at some point near ukhimath one of the locaI blocked our road by his car and requested us to quit the journey at night and stay at our small resort as he told that it's not safe as trails are narrow and iced and snow leopards 🐆 and bears sometimes attack on vehicles at night. So I accepted and we stayed at resort named trishul at ukhimath (29kms) from tungnath trek point.
In morning I was ready for painting the roads with my bike, and I reached trek point at 8:30 AM.. With full high wives unknowingly I haven't taken trek sticks and I was totally unware of the trek paths are fully snowed with 6-8 feet of ice, when I reached half trek I seen there were no trek paths to discover the routes, i was into totally wild discovery scenario, one of the Russian meet me on the trek path I asked what's the situation can I go ahead she just only replied " I returned halfway god faith & good luck ".now It was clear sign to me to decide for moving ahead or back to resort.
I have just 1 bottle of 1 litre water as a trek booster. Now I decided to go ahead for challenge with a grace of God 😇🙏👼
My each step over elevated trek was going 3-4 feet deep in ice & thank god I have rented ice boots, but it was really energy sucking with each step on climbing.. I met two guys younger than me simply lying on ice due to low bp & high altitude fever and there is no way of rescue out there I have given my last 200 ml of water in guys mouth lying unconscious on ice.. I rubbed thoer hand and recommend them to stay there and eat ice small chunks of ice to maintain water in their bodies until I come back..
My situation was also going hydrated due lack of water, at one point of time again it felt I can't reach when I was just 3000 ft far from tungath temple, it was 1:30 p. M afternoon, I thought I was stucjed in middle of no where I need to think of staying at night then and there only if I stuck in between, so luckily one of group was returning I have borrowed a cigarette lighter for emergency.
Again I started trekking and bad luck I lost the trek path and lost in peaks I have no ideal direction to temple at peak, so in ahope to have views I kept trekking, my trek shoes were failed and were totally dipped with ice
Anyhow I choose to trek and find the temple, and trekking on I reached finally to the chandrashilla temple 13,000 ft almost half hieght of mt. Everest.
I take a long breath and holded my self to shoot a drone video there but due to extreme freezing temperatures the devices failed to start..
Any how I taken 1 min shot through my dying smart phone
Here is how I managed
After a long hustle with ice beds of peaks I decided to discover the tungath temple, it's said on web it was down trek of 2000 ft from where I was and started down trekking in hunt of temple, here I met the same guy which was unconscious and he was somewhat fit and honestly awaiting for me, he told me that it is South West from where we were, and again I followed him with divine courage to meet the god.
And Lucklity of the situation we were on right trek I seen the glimpse of temple top and rushed out with exhausting physical condition. And we meet the god shiva sitting inside the temple, the temple was half in icefolds only top of temple are seen. Luckily I was blessed in no man's land and I reached there with a grace of Lord shiva. That was mystic place to be remembered all of life.
Hail shiva Hail tungath baba
We chanted the Lord shiva and any how we were back safely to the trek point chopta where I was started the journey to temple
