It’s a day where different events and activities take place around the world to improve education, raise awareness and advocate for advancements in fighting cancer.

What Happens On World Cancer Day?
World Cancer Day is described as a leading international awareness day.
It’s a collective movement that is committed to the furtherance of building a better future around cancer care and offers an overwhelming amount of support to those with cancer, cancer survivors, and their families.

What You Can Do
You don’t have to be a medical professional, medical agency, or in medical communications to do anything. What you do need to do is care.
Gather your colleagues at work, friends, and family and organize your own special event or activity for World Cancer Day.

What to expect on World Cancer Day 2022
The cancer community will make its voice heard on a global scale, generate enthusiasm and action, raise awareness about the need to close the gap in cancer care make sure that everyone has equitable access to lifesaving services, and get #WorldCancerDay and #CloseTheCareGap trending on social media.
A full day of live content streamed on the World Cancer Day website(link is external) as well as on the World Cancer Day Facebook and YouTube channels offering a rare look at the work of the cancer community.
Discussions with experts and people living with cancer taking an in-depth look at the socioeconomic factors, such as cultural contexts, gender norms, income, and education levels, as well as the prejudices, discrimination, and assumptions based on age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability and lifestyle that create wide disparities in cancer prevention, incidence, and survival.

Close The Care Gap Theme 2022
The theme for World Cancer Day 2022 is Close The Care Gap.
The disparity is not the only disparity of wealth; it can be inequality of healthcare too and it’s happening globally.
It’s not only happening in third world countries, it’s happening in developed countries too.

This World Cancer Day, we recognize the power of knowledge. We know that every single one of us has the ability to make a difference, large or small and that together we can make real progress in reducing the global impact of cancer. This 4 February, we call on you, whoever and wherever you are, to play your part in creating a cancer-free world.
