Back the dog

The baby went down for her nap, I have a little candy and an iced coffee (unfortunately not a Farmer's Union) and have a chance to watch a little Football. Australia v France. One of them is the clear underdog but, I won't say which...

I am not nationalistic but when it comes to sports, backing a team makes it more interesting and in general, I back the underdog. There is something human in wanting tge unexpected to happen and to see David fell Goliath. There is beauty in seeing the struggle, even in defeat as long as the game was played with intensity.

We all want to win despite what we may say and even the non-competitive don't aim to lose. When it comes to sport though, it is easy to attach ourselves to the successes of others and identify with their ups and downs. But in all of life, some spend so much time obsessing over the fortunes of others they seem to forget (or avoid) that they need to tend to their own garden too. Living vicariously only leads to limitation.

This is for another post though, right now I am going to relax a little and watch Australia fell a Giant. ;)

Lol not a chance.

Ye of little faith... lol.

Backing the underdog is a concept reserved for two kind of people. Revolutionaries and adrenaline junkies and I am not sure if there is a difference :-)
Backing a team does make it more interesting, it actually grounds the game or rather tethers the game to your emotions and provide you with an opportunity to be an invested in that match. This point of yours reminds me of a post you made a few days ago by the title of 'Facing with no box'.
In that post you asked a very valid question - why do people refuse labels given to them by others and yet then they go ahead and choose labels of their own?
I find the answer of that question in this today's post. Perhaps those labels help us to be invested in something that we believe in. If nothing they else then maybe they simple help ground us to the reality and maybe for one of these reasons we are so vehement in refusing others to give us those labels.

Absolutely. I think the self-imposed labels are about belonging/investment. The risk in it is when one keeps investing blindly. I still prefer to float labels and connect with them when helpful to improvement.

Second half...

French guy playing the wrong sport? 1-1!

I concor you relaxed sir @tarazkp because all work without rest makes jack a dull boy but sport is never my thing i dont understand any thing about it, so i dont waste my time watching it.Happy relaxation sir.

It was a very disputed duel, some were believing that it would be a rout of France, but Australia was raised very well in the field proving that came to the World Cup to war and so it proved, cost him play comfortable to France, we can notice that this world will bring many surprises, Australia gave the face and fell as you say, like a big one, what do you think of Argentina vs Iceland?

Ah sorry :/ Honestly, I was rooting for the Aussies too, since I hate France (only in football, though), but...:D
Anyway, good to see you taking a much deserved breather...I'm just settling in to watch Argentina vs Iceland ;)
