At the Egypt-Uruguay match in Ekaterinburg, there were many empty seats. Although, according to the accounts, almost all tickets were sold.
I do not think that it's a matter of cold weather, and not that it's not everyone capable of flying from a small Uruguayan population to almost the edge of the earth.
So why there are about 5000 seats left?
I think the point here is that a lot of tickets were distributed through sponsorship organizations, and the fans, who were supposed to get tickets, were more suitable for us. I'm sure that there would be more people if we only needed tickets to get to the stadium.
But the notorious passport of the fan, some scared away, and some, as we know (especially to the tried people) the security service denied it. So maybe, at first it was necessary to make a passport fan. and only then sell tickets? This is more a question for the organizers.
Many tickets were held or went through their own, and those that went to free sale were in very bad places (and at a price of not less than 6200), or at very expensive places. And even taking into account the fact that our rivals were playing, apparently, this did not add enthusiasm.
In addition, a large screen was put in Mayakovsky Park and the audience could watch the match there, and even more so that the park and beer could be bought (though from 300 rubles per 0.5 liters)
I hope for the next match, where one of the World Cup favorites will play - the French - the situation will change for the better
