The Greens, will join Dance for Development led by @mbozekobrice to commemorate this year's World Humanitarian Day on August 19, 2021 at Blue Pearl Plaza Mile 3 Nkwen, Bamenda - North West Region of Cameroon.

Humanitarians are people who put their time, talent and resources to improve the lives of people and the planet. They make enormous sacrifices and risk their lives to serve, hence deserve to be recognized and celebrated.

This year's World Humanitarian Day focuses on the Climate Crisis.

The climate emergency is wreaking havoc across the world at a scale that people on the front lines and in the humanitarian community cannot manage. Time is already running out for the world’s most vulnerable people — those who have contributed least to the global climate emergency yet are hit the hardest — and millions of others that are already losing their homes, their livelihoods, and their lives.

With most climate campaigns focused on slowing climate change and securing the planet’s future, World Humanitarian Day 2021, will highlight the immediate consequences of the climate emergency for the world’s most vulnerable people and ensure that their voices are heard, and their needs top the agenda at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November.

Therefore, everyone is invited to join #TheHumanRace, which is the global challenge for climate action in solidarity with people who need it the most; and to put the needs of climate-vulnerable people front and centre at the UN climate summit (COP26).

• Welcome by the organizers
• Brief presentation of Steemit and How Steemit can be used to promote Humanitarian Action around the Globe (Distribution of Steemit flyers)
• Reading of the 2021 World Humanitarian Day Message
• Educative talks from various humanitarian organizations present on the theme "Volunteerism"
• Recognition of outstanding volunteers in the North West Region
• Learning of a dance choreography which will be used as an appreciation symbol to volunteers around the globe
• Dance for Volunteers
• Refreshment and closing

Besides @thegreens' presentation about Steemit and how Steemit can promote humanitarian action around the globe, @thegreens will also effectively promote #Steemit on T-Shirts, flyers, banners and all event materials. I look forward to raising awareness about Steemit to over 200 persons during this day as well as recruiting over 30 persons to Steemit.

To effectively celebrate this day and give it the color it deserves, @thegreens will be raising funds to purchase the following items:
