The German Kriegsmarine introduced the notorious Enigma M4 in 1942. It was the most effective cipher machine at that time M4 had 4 instead of 3 rotors, but also the 4th of the rotor can't step when the stepping mechanisms was identically in the 3-rotor version. Initial 10 months of blackout the British cryptanalyst in Bletchley Park maked in breaking into the M4 message traffic, the codename was SHARK thanks to analysis of the 4th rotor and the capturing of Code Books & weather codes that was used as cribs, JADE was the codename, given by the United State to the Japanese cipher devices which was used by the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) from the year 1942 to yaer 1944. That was used to decipher messages in katakana with the makes use of an alphabet of 50 characters long.
