The Rusty Rainy Worms - The crowdsource unit.

in worms •  6 years ago  (edited)

Nature is full of vivid species of insects, bugs and worms. Today will share one of the common type of worms found during rainy seaon. The rusty color worms with white strips can be easily seen during rainy day. Mostly crawling in soil and always in groups. These Rusty color worms are very common sighted things in many areas. They form a kind of "hive" on the soil which always stay together.

I have seen these species since childhood, but never knew its original name. It always be found during day and night. One thing most common about these worms are they never been in alone. They always stay together and keep moving slowly in a bunch.

Even i tried to google to know more about them, but unable to trace these worms. One over the another they do not mind crawling , they are the bunch mover and never seen them biting. If you ever try to disturb their cohesive unit, they get disintegrate in a min, and scattered everywhere. But soon they gather again together.

The best example of unity over bonding. The bigger or smaller member of the group, never part away from the group. These worms neither give any foul smell. They never enter your home, but can be seen in courtyard, or fields. From a distance they resembles like any Rusty patches in fields. On getting clpser, you will notice the slow movement of the worms. They move very slowly as a bunch.

So next time, keep an eye on the soil , or never crush these animal under your feet. In case you will notice any spot on soil, do keep it closely. These worms have different species, few small, few bigger or mix of both.

Yes, these little creatures are amazing! I am seeing them from my childhood. During my childhood once or twice I crushed them but soon I realized that it is a sin. I never harm any creatures now.

But they do get crushed by many unknowingly...

I have seen something similar in Central America and did not dare to get close by as they grossed me out. They do make a good photo though!

Hahah...thats true..better in pic

They look like millipedes or some other type of earthworm, I've never seen so many together though....

That's a lot of millipedes! :) I think they are good as they eat dead things....like little recyclers.

Not sure but loved the way they make theor move as a cohesive unit

I understand LOL We have a fascination for bugs over here, too.

Hello, Vikay! In America, we call these many legged creatures "millipedes." I have never seen so many as in your photograph! @steemflow They don't bother me like your snake photos do!😀
