The false worship in the Bible: Like the man who slays a son in his father's presence is the one who offers a sacrifice taken from the possessions of the poor. Ben Sira 34:24

The sapiential books, such as the Book of Wisdom, Proverbs, and Ben Sira, complete the teaching of the law of Moses given in the Pentateuch, and thus they wisely teach in what consists of the true and the false worship of God in the Bible.
And everything starts from a spiritual principle, the law of Moses cannot be interpreted in a strict way, but rather in a flexible way, as taught in the Bible: "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man", Ecclesiastes 12:13. In other words, the law must be interpreted through the light of the common sense that the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, and equanimity) provides. Because the opposite of the fear of God is the hardness of the heart, and whoever interprets the law of Moses in this way falls into deception and oppression, as happened in the time of Jesus with the Pharisees and Sadducees, who made religion a source of profit.
This is why the only wise God rejects the offering of sinners, that is, the bad, and the impious, that is, the worst:
"A sacrifice of ill-gotten goods is tainted:
the gifts of the wicked are not acceptable.
The Most High takes no pleasure in the offerings of the godless,
nor do their many sacrifices gain his pardon for their sins" Ben Sira 34:21-23.
And a clear example of this was how God in the Book of Genesis rejected Cain's offering and accepted Abel's, because the Lord in his wisdom weighed hearts and judged intentions. This is why other prophets expressed themselves on the same issue but in a different way: "For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings" Hosea 6:6. God is pure spirit and any relationship with God must be consistent with his eternal wisdom, because everything else is abomination and heresy. The Bible invites men to live according to the divine laws that govern the universe and not to live subject to their passions and passing whims.
And so the master of wisdom Ben Sira concluded his reflection on false worship that must be avoided: "Like the man who slays a son in his father's presence is the one who offers a sacrifice taken from the possessions of the poor" Ben Sira 34:24.
