Worship only God: Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. Psalm 146:3

The wise man and the foolish man value things differently. King Nebuchadnezzar was a tyrant of Babylon who only trusted in power and wealth, and God for his pride punished him with the madness (Daniel 4:25-30). Holofernes, a cruel and despotic man, made the same mistake and was beheaded by Judith (Judith 13:6-9). History constantly repeats itself and fools fall into the same mistakes over and over again. That is why the Book of Proverbs gives us wise advice: "Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm" Proverbs 13:20.
The book of psalms calls us to be wise and live wisely, because wisdom as science and as intelligence is in proximity to God: "For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding" Proverbs 2:6.
The wise man understands that the power of men is fleeting but God's providence is eternal, that's why whoever praises God puts his trust in the right place; and so teaches Psalm 146:
"I will praise the LORD all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing" Psalm 146:2-4.
Unlike Nebuchadnezzar and Holofernes who were fools; Kings David and Solomon, on the other hand, always lived in the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion) and were wise in the eyes of God, despite some mistakes, and that is why a blessedness was fulfilled in them:
"Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the LORD their God" Psalm 146:5.
Worship the Lord, lead a pious life and always be grateful, that is the key to a prosperous and happy life, this is the teaching that Psalm 146 seeks to leave us. Those who trust in apparent goods sooner or later will see their hope disappointed, because God humbles the mighty and exalts the lowly.
