Remove your witness vote from @lukestokes.mhth and get some free SHIT!

I've met Luke and think he's a decent guy... but I was thinking of unvoting him because of the situation - so.. done.

I haven't left Steem to go to EOS, regardless of what bernie says. Not much has changed for me since I joined eosDAC back in April of 2018. If there are better witnesses that you trust to secure the chain, by all means vote for them. I've said the same thing since I first became a witness. Did it make sense for me to be ranked as high as number 2? I don't really think so, but that's not up to me, it's up to the token holder voters.

I'm not a pile of shit. Bernie saying so doesn't make it so and those who actually know me and have read my content for almost 3 years know that.

Either way, I try not to take witness voting personally. I'm still doing the same things I've done from the beginning which is to be involved in the cryptocurrency space and bring that experience and expertise to help others. I'm more busy now involved in multiple things (eosDAC, FIO, consulting, etc), but Steem is still my home on the Internet. It's still the most useable blockchain out there, though I do think it will face very real competition from Voice, Libra, and others. I think that's a good thing. I think it needs to continue to adapt and evolve to survive, as does everything in this space and in life.

Think this is a good use case for !dramatoken right here.

Appreciate your continued support to @steemflagrewards. It's making a difference one flag at a time. Glad to see you take this sort of thing in stride. Good on ya!

Hey Luke, I know you aren't a pile of shit.. lol
For the record, I've lost a few significant witness votes since writing this comment - for really no reason, I feel. I was hoping that EOS and Steem would co-exist and they may well do, but it is pretty clear that Dan fully intends to try to destroy Steem with Voice, not just compete with it. My current assessment of Voice is that it isn't really what I want in a social network at this point, so I'm sticking with Steem. That means that I am kind of forced to choose between EOS and Steem at the moment - which therefore means, just using my standard business logic - that I would be best served to choose people who are dedicated to Steem and not EOS. Maybe things will change in the blink of an eye.

Well, some of us are working on projects to get EOS and STEEM to work together. I've put many hours into that effort and brought those groups together to build something cool.

It's also possible the work I've been doing to enable DACs might some day be used for the Steem community.

I can't speak for what Dan intends to do, but the market will decide. I have almost 3 years of content on Steem for a reason: it's still the best, most active, and most widely used social media blockchain project on the planet. Might that change with Voice/Libra/whatever in the future? Sure. The only way it won't get destroyed is if we work together to continue to innovate and make a more valuable product here. My involvement in consulting for many projects, IMO, gives me a better context and vantage point to do that. Others disagree. They can vote how they see fit.

I appreciate and respect your perspective to vote on witnesses who are 100% committed to the success of Steem which protects your investment. Makes perfect sense. I'd also encourage you to consider supporting those who are interested in learning from other projects and don't get too myopic or in a Steem bubble. They may miss opportunities to improve Steem by not being involved in other things.

I'm certainly interested to see what can be achieved by unifying EOS and Steem wherever possible - I agree that there is some room there for Dan's ego trip to be restrained in that way.

I have no reason to think that you are working against Steem in any way, but for the moment I am viewing EOS as a threat to Steem, more than an assistant - I will reassess that position constantly as things move on.

The way I understood Voice, it seemed different from Steemit, but if Voice is attempting to compet with Steemit and destroy it, of course I’m interested. I see no reason to be ”loyal” to Steemit. A reason can be given, but I don’t see one on the horizon rn.

Anything associated with "EOS" has satanic undertones, mostly in the symbolism. I'm unsure about the future of Steem but in my opinion, EOS is not an alternative.

The main issues are that Voice is not anonymous, relies on centralisation instead of decentralisation and has a totally different reward approach that may or may not be an improvement. It's a much more mainstream project due to it's higher funding.

There’s nothing wrong with centralisation. If nothing else, Steemit is great evidence as to why decentralisation is terrible.

Nothing works here. And everything is a mess.

There are benefits to both centralisation and decentralisation. The former can produce a greater focus sometimes, at the cost of freedom and the latter allows greater autonomy and potential for balance. I'd rather choose freedom.
