ACW PPV #1: Fight Night Vegas

in wrestling •  7 years ago

The show opens with a graphic of a roulette wheel that has stipulation themed parts it has a certain regal (wink wink) theme about it, but is cut by two gladius swords and looks more akin to 300 as it reads "Fight Night: Vegas"

A bunch of pyro goes off and "No Mercy" by KIT is playing (starting at "I don't know just where you came from, but I know you're going back,".....)

Baron Corbin vs. Austin Aries (Flaming Tables)

Aries enters first, who takes his time to get to the ring and even stops to high five fans in attendance.

Corbin comes out next on a Harley Davidson. He revs the engine at the top of the ramp and makes his way down slowly. Upon stopping at the one of the corners, he looks at one of the tables a ringside menacingly.

The two circle around the ring and coke at each other quickly as if to lock up, but Aries kicks Corbin in the knee followed by an enziguri (spelling?) Aries goes to the outside and tries to get a table early. He gets a leg out, but Corbin jumps over and hits a clothesline.

Corbin takes control as he takes Aries to the barricade Clotheslining him over, Corbin takes the table inside of the ring and sets it in a corner.

Corbin proceeds to turn the ring into his own little hell, setting up another table and even a trash can in one of the corners. He grabs a chair and takes a seat to wait for Aries.

The crowd is cheering, trying to will Aries back into the match. During this time he is being attended to by ACW personnel. Aries comes to his feet though and makes his way back to Corbin. Corbin is on his feet, but Aries tells him "No, sit down." Aries grabs a chair of his own and sits down across from Corbin. Aries then gives Corbin a slap to the face. Enraged, Corbin answers with a slap of his own. The two trade slaps for a few turns, but ends when Aries takes Corbin right into the table that was set up in the corner. The fans cheer, but Sonnen calls Aries a waste, noting that the table needs to be on fire when Corbin goes through it.

From there, Aries takes control of the match. While Corbin is down, Aries goes outside of the ring. He grabs a table is able to get it lit. Seeing Corbin still down in the ring, Aries goes to the top rope

Aries is on the top rope, looking to hit a cross body on Corbin when, out from under the ring, comes Manik and is able to put Aries through the table that has already been lit.

Buffer: "Your winner: Baron Corbin!"

Corbin comes to and realizes what has happened.

"You masked freak...I don't need you fighting my battles for me."

Baron then hits the Deep Six on Manik going into the trash can that was in the corner. Corbin exits the ring with haste.

Taeler Hendrix vs. Ivelisse Velez (Lucky 13)

The camera shows staple guns on the top of the ring posts. Dollar bills are on the outside of the ring.

Hendrix enters first. She has a major of trepidation, but she tries to brush it off as if it were nothing. Hendrix does her signature pose before going into the ring. She smiles devilishly as she twirls her hair.

Ivelisse enters next and wastes no time getting to the ring. She wants to get her hands on Hendrix, but the official is holding her back as Taeler taunts.

The bell rings and the ref goes to the outside of the ring. Joe Rogan points out that the official is only there to notify when bills have been successfully stapled.

Hendrix plays the cowardly heel, trying to get away from Velez but she's having none of it. Ivelisse hits a Tornado DDT. Taking advantage, Ivelisse goes outside and grabs a handful of the dollar bills at ringside and a staple gun from the ring post. Ivelisse locks in a Dragon Sleeper with the body scissors and gets not one but two bills into Hendrix's midsection. When the pair get to their feet, Hendrix looks down in horror. Ivelisse charges but is met with a back kick and Hendrix answers back, stapling two bills into Velez's leg. Velez is knocked down to a super kick from Hendrix to be greeted with another bill to the opposite leg.

The two go back and forth, each shot seeming to be harder than the last. It gets to the point where both Velez and Hendrix have 12 bills stapled. Taeler has mostly focused on the legs of Velez, while Velez has focused on Hendrix's arms and body. The two trade shots back and forth until Hendrix tries to mount for punches, but Velez is able to staple the last bill to Hendrix's forehead.

Buffer: "Here is your winner: Ivelisse Velez!"

Ivelisse adds insult to injury to Hendrix by stapling a 14th to the forehead of Hendrix forming the shape of an "L".

Cut to backstage, where Charly Caruso is with Deonna Purrazzo they talk about the match that has happened as well as when Purrazzo can come back to the ring. Deonna says all of that is up in the air at the moment, as she's just concerned about healing up the right way, not taking any shortcuts or prematurely returning.

ACW Brothers of the Sands: The Authors of Pain (w/ Paul Ellering) vs. The Veterans of War (Elimination Tag Team Match)

AOP enters first with their SWAT inspired gear (NXT Takeover with the masks). The Authors and Paul Ellering maintain a silence about them as they make their way to the ring. Upon their arrival, they look up at the top of the ramp.

The VOWs music hits and after a pause, the two emerge in a tank with a huge American flag hanging off the back (not dragging behind of course). The Veterans exit the tank at the ramp and are nothing but high energy. Mayweather takes the flag off and starts waving it to a huge chant. "USA! USA! USA!" fills the arena. As the VOW are coming to the ring though, they are attacked by Akam and Rezar.

Rezar is fighting Mayweather in the ring while Akam and Wilcox are fighting on the outside. Rezar and Mayweather lock up, but Rezar breaks it up quickly as he hits a punch to the gut.

Outside the ring, Akam and Wilcox do battle with Akam dominating as Paul Ellering is doing a measure of taunting. Wilcox turns his attention to Ellering. Akam is able to take advantage and spear Wilcox through the barricade. Akam leaves Wilcox at the side and slowly makes his way to the apron.

Rezar whips Mayweather to the corner and he and Akam take turns tagging in and out whaling on Mayweather. "USA" chants fill the arena trying to will the Veterans of War back into the match.

Wilcox wearily comes to and makes his way to the apron, being tagged in as Mayweather crawls to their corner. Wilcox isn't entirely there, but off of survival he lands a series of punches on Akam. While not paying attention though, Rezar runs in and he and Akam hit The Last Chapter (lariat/leg sweep combo) and eliminate Wilcox via pinfall.

The crowd boos fervently as Mayweather is in shock. This wears off quick as he regains his wits and charges at Akam, whipping him into the ropes and meeting him with a spear.

Akam is eliminated as Mayweather gets a pin.

Mayweather motions at Rezar as the "USA" chants once again fill the MGM Grand. Mayweather gets Rezar in a three quarters facelock and hits multiple knee strikes to the head and follows up with a swinging neck breaker.

Mayweather goes to the corner, makes a machine gun themed taunt. "GET UP YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Rezar comes to. Upon this, Mayweather goes for the spear, but runs into a big boot from the Author of Pain.

Mayweather is pinned and the match is called

Buffer: Your winners and new Brothers of the Sands!: Akam! Rezar! The Authors of Pain!

Akam runs back down and he, Rezar, and Paul all celebrate in the ring as Ellering gives his champions the belts that eluded them for so long. The pair holds up the belts while the crowd chants "YOU STILL SUCK!"

IMPACT Grand Championship: Moose (c) vs. ?

Moose's music hits. On the stage, extras with ACW themed uniforms (airbrushed to look like gladiator helmets etc.) Moose emerges and makes his way down to the ring.

Upon his arrival, he grabs a microphone. He talks about opportunity and seizing the moment. That is the spirit of why he decided to issue an open challenge. He says that while it might have been better to be in the main event, he is a world champion in his own right having defended the Grand Championship virtually everywhere. In the interest of not wasting time, Moose says his opponent should go ahead and come out here.

After a brief pause, Bully Ray's music hits to a mixed reaction from the crowd. Simplicity is key to Bully's entrance as he comes in with a fairly stoic demeanor. He gets to his corner, takes off his chain all the while no breaking eye contact with Moose.

Sonnen and Rogan go over the rules of the bout.

  • Each round is scheduled for 3 minutes

  • a 10 point must system for the winner of the round

  • 3 judges score based on physicality, aggressiveness, and control of the match

  • wins via pinfall or submission can happen at any time. If not, the decision goes to the judges.

Round 1:

Moose and Bully Ray lock up with Ray getting the initial advantage. Ray hits with a series of German suplexes, using the fifth to throw Moose into the corner. Moose comes to his feet only to meet a big boot to the face. Ray taunts the crowd. This is met with boos as Moose is able to stand back up. Ray charges at Moose, but Moose hits a pop-up powerbomb. Moose goes for the pin, but Ray kicks out at 2. Bully Ray gets to his feet and for the last 10 seconds of the round, the pair exchange punches.

The bell rings to end the round, but they aren't wanting to break away. The crowd is going insane, chanting "LET THEM FIGHT!" and official Earl Hebner is not taking shit from either competitor.

Buffer: "The judges have scored the first round 10-2 in favor of Bully Ray!

The crowd boos as Ray stoically taunts the crowd.

Round 2:

Moose shoots into punches and Bully answers back. Breaking away, Moose bounces of the ropes and hits a hesitation drop kick. Moose goes for a pin, but Ray kicks out at 1. Bully answers back with a sideslam. He tries to follow up with a senton, but Moose moves out of the way. Ray is whipped to the corner to be met with the "Moose Crossing". Bully takes over from there hitting another big boot and upon Moose trying another splash. Ray again hits the German suplexes, then a senton. Slowing down though, Ray taunts again. With :15 left, Ray hits the Bully Bomb, but Moose kicks out. Bully goes for another pin, but the round expires before the complete count.

Bully Ray can be heard yelling in frustration, screaming multiple expletives, not only at Hebner, but the crowd at ringside as well.

Buffer: The judges have scored the second round 10-5 in favor of Bully Ray!

Rogan expresses concern for Moose as he seems to have a little difficulty getting to his feet. Sonnen lauds Moose here, but says Bully Ray is doing what he has to do to win. The pair note that the only way that Moose can hang on to his title is if he pins Bully or makes him submit. "In 3 minutes, we will know the truth. Who has the stronger will?"

Round 3:

Right after the bell, Moose hits Ray with a drop kick. Not content with that, Moose picks him up and hits him with multiple punches, followed up with multiple headbutts. Rogan and Sonnen talk about the new life in Moose, "but will it be too late?". Moose whips Ray into the corner, climbing the top rope, Moose hits a chokebomb. Moose is able to pin Ray with 1:00 left.

The crowd erupts as Moose celebrates with his championship.

Buffer: "Ladies and gentlemen, your winner via pinfall at 2:00 into the 3rd round.....AND STILL the IMPACT Grand Champion......MOOOSE!!!!"

ACW Breaking Point Championship (8 Man Elimination Submissions)
Samoa Joe vs. Jake Hager vs. Sheamus vs Magnus vs. Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley vs Drew Gulak vs Ken Shamrock (new participants enter roughly every two minutes)

Entrant #1: Drew Gulak

Gulak makes his way to the ring and looks at the championship belt that is that ringside. Aware of what is ahead of him, Gulak mentally prepares himself for the match. He looks up to the ramp awaiting entrant #2.

Entrant #2: Magnus

Magnus makes his entrance to a hero's welcome. The crowd is majorly behind Magnus as he makes his way down.

Gulak and Magnus lock up, looking to keep things technical. They chain wrestle up until the third entrant.

Entrant #3: Jake Hager

Hager is wearing his Gadsden flag cape as he rushes to the ring with the crowd booing the whole way. He throws it off and goes right after Magnus. Hager goes right for a gut-wrench power bomb. Hager and Gulak then try to work the legs of Magnus.

Entrant #4: Brock Lesnar

Brock slowly makes his way down while everyone in the ring has now experienced a fair amount of trepidation. Upon entering the ring, Lesnar goes right after Hager. But Magnus, being ambitious, goes after Lesnar. Taking advantage of distraction, Gulak and Hager do chop blocks and take out Lesnar's legs. Gulak and Hager then go for their respective ankle locks. Magnus backs off as to not expel unnecessary energy.

Entrant #5: Samoa Joe

Brock looks as though he is about to tap as Joe makes his way down. Brock is able to grab Magnus' ankle and throw him into Hager and Gulak to break their holds. Joe runs right into a German suplex from Brock, but it does seem as though some damage has been done by Hager and Gulak. Brock goes back to Hager, hitting multiple knee lifts. Lesnar is able to get Hager into the Kimura Lock, to which Hager quickly taps.

Entrant #6: Sheamus

Sheamus wastes no time, hitting a Brogue Kick on Lesnar. Before he can take advantage though, he is met with a drop kick from Magnus. Magnus then looks to Samoa Joe and they smile. Magnus climbs to the top rope. Joe hits Sheamus with a Snapmare and Magnus follows it up with the Diving Elbow. Magnus locks in the King's Lynn Cloverleaf and Sheamus has absolutely no response, resulting in his elimination. Magnus and Joe celebrate, but it is short-lived, as Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch, to which Magnus taps.

Entrant #7: Bobby Lashley

Brock turns around and Bobby goes right into punches with Lesnar. So much in fact that they end up falling to the outside of the ring and do battle out there. Joe and Gulak do battle on the outside, going to classic chain wrestling. Lashley brings Lesnar back in the hard way and two continue their strikes, trying to get in as many body shots as possible. Lashley is able to wear Lesnar down further.

Entrant #8: Ken Shamrock

Ken Shamrock makes his way into the ring, staring intensely at Drew Gulak. Brock wrests himself away from Lashley and suddenly finds himself face to face against Lashley, Samoa Joe, Drew Gulak and Ken Shamrock. Everyone gangs up on Lesnar. Gulak rolls Lesnar into an ankle lock, while Shamrock aids him locking in the Fujiwara armbar. During this, Joe and Lashley are locked in various holds. Hebner gets no response from Lesnar, thereby eliminating him. Shamrock and Gulak high five and then go right back to work, getting locked into more chain wrestling. Lashley lures Joe to the outside only to be met with a Dominator, similar to what he did to Brock Lesnar. Once Joe comes to though, he is no longer amused. He grabs the ring steps and throws them at Lashley. He then picks up the steps and beats the hell out of Lashley with them, all the while shouting "YOU'RE NOTHING! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A HAS BEEN!". Joe takes Lashley back into the ring, and locks in the Coquina Clutch . Lashley submits and is attended to by medical personnel.

Down to the final three, as Gulak, Joe, and Shamrock all circle the ring. There are mixed reactions in the crowd as some are cheering for Gulak and Shamrock while others are chanting "Joe is gonna kill you!" Gulak and Shamrock gang up on Joe, giving multiple body shots, followed up by running double drop-kicks. Joe is then pulled into the center of the ring and Shamrock and Gulak lock in their Ankle Locks. After several seconds of agonizing screaming, Joe submits.

Gulak and Shamrock stare each other down. They lock up and finish the bout in the very technical manner in which it started. Though Shamrock does break away and get a couple of kicks in. After this Shamrock tries to work the legs of Gulak, which have been destroyed by this match. Methodically, Shamrock targets specifically the ankle and knees. Finally, Shamrock locks in the Ankle lock and Gulak submits.

Buffer: Your winner and inaugural ACW Breaking Point Champion:.....the World's Most Dangerous Man! Ken Shamrock!

Drew Gulak has a disappointed look across his face, but Ken Shamrock comes over to him, title over his shoulder, picks him up and shakes his hand, saying to him, "You have nothing to be ashamed of, kid." Shamrock then holds Gulak's hand up. The crowd cheers and claps.

Domina of ACW (30 Minute Iron Woman Match):
Awesome Kong vs. Alexa Bliss

Bliss tries to avoid Kong, trying to be more methodical and using psychology to her advantage, but Kong scores a fall early off of a spinning backfist. Trying to play catch up, Bliss tries to take out the legs of her adversary (which takes a tremendous amount of time), and manages to score a fall with roughly 10 minutes left. At this point though, Kong is simply too much. As Bliss struggles to get to her feet, Kong hits an Amazing Press (diving splash) from the top rope and scores a second fall. This remains a pretty one-sided contest and Kong scores another fall within the last minute off of the Implant Buster to get the victory 3-1.

Buffer: Your winner and NEW Domina of ACW: The Awesome Kong!

ACW Champion of the Cage (Steel Cage)
Conor McGregor (c) vs. CM Punk

Conor runs for the Cage door, only to be stopped by Punk who delivers a leg lariat. Punk brings him up only to deiliver a series of punches and kicks to him. McGregor is able to get back up though, being perfectly conditioned for such an environment. McGregor gets in a few punches of his own. Conor goes over to Punk, who is lying in the ground, but Punk lulls Conor into an armbar. After a brief moment of suspense, Conor gets out and takes a moment to size up Punk and evaluate his strategy.

The pair trades punches as the crowd chants, at first with "CM Punk" and are answered back with "NOTORIOUS!" (to the tune of Bobby Roode's "Glorious"). McGregor yells to Punk, "Hey look, I lasted longer than you did!"

To this Punk shoots into a takedown, leading to the pair to grapple for a time. This leads into Punk getting the Anaconda Vise locked in, but McGregor answers back with some well placed kicks to the head. McGregor tries to run for the door, but Punk catches him with a kick to the head. Punk follows up by picking him up, saying "Sweet dreams, bitch!" and hitting the GTS. Punk then begins to scale up the cage wall.

When Punk is about halfway up the cage.....Brock Lesnar's music hits and Lesnar charges down the ramp. He first hits the cage to try and knock Punk loose. After this, Lesnar rips the cage door off of its hinges and pulls Punk down by force. Lesnar hits and emphatic F5, opening up an opportunity for McGregor to escape.

Buffer: "Your winner via escape and still Champion of the Cage: The Notorious! Conor McGregor!"

Conor runs to the timekeeper's table, "GIVE ME MY FUCKING TITLE! GIVE IT!". Conor snatches his belt away and runs to the top of the ramp.

Lesnar goes back inside of the cage and hits another F5 on Punk.

William Regal is watching backstage and upon watching what has transpired, Regal loses his shit and destroys the area that he is in, flipping tables and punching walls, even destroying the TV that he was just watching on. Regal then sees the cameraman who was filming and destroys his camera. It then cuts back to the commentary team who talk about not only what has just transpired with Punk and McGregor, but the highly anticipated match coming up.

ACW World Championship (Ultimate X Match)
A.J. Styles vs. Mike Bennett vs. Hideo Itami

All three men go for separate corners, each trying to get to their own cable. They get to the center at about the same time, but Bennett loses his grip. AJ and Hideo battle at the top, but Bennett brings down Styles followed by Itami. The three keep their bout relatively grounded; however, Styles is more than content to bring in an attack from the air, whipping Bennett to the outside followed by a running suicide Shooting Star Press to the outside, which makes the crowd blow up! The trio precoeeds to go back and forth between who is able to get the upper hand, but Styles seems to dominate the match. At one point, when all three are making their way to the title, Bennett and Itami team up on Styles and knock him from the top.

At this point, Mike Bennett grabs the title, but Hideo is able to grab onto it also before Bennett hits the ground. Bennett and Itami come down clutching the Championship for dear life.

Buffer: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Mike Bennett and Hideo Itami have come down with the Championship along with hitting the ground and maintaining possession of it....therefore your ACW World Champions: Mike Bennett and Hideo Itami!!"

Joe Rogan and Chael Sonnen express their surprise at what has happened here. They don't know if co-champions are even a thing. Rogan wants to see how this can work while Sonnen is declaring an outrage and demanding a rematch under more fair rules, as Bennett shouldn't be forced to share his title.

The show ends as Bennett and Itami are essentially playing tug of war with the title.
