The above photo is a WWE photo displaying the most interesting character to enter a WWE ring since the Undertaker. And what do you do when The Fiend (Bray Wyatt) enters the ring? You do as instructed, meaning you "let him in." The Fiend debuted his ring entrance at Summerslam this past Sunday and it was spectacular! His theme song, "Let Me In" by Code Orange, is already blowing up iTunes.
He carried a lantern to the ring in the shape of a head, which happened to be Wyatt's face without the mask. Reports have stated that this is supposed to signify the death of the old Bray Wyatt. Much in the way The Undertaker entered the ring, The Fiend's path to the squared circle was slow and methodical.
Both Smackdown and Raw teased the coming of The Fiend, by running episodes of an eerie children's style program entitled "Firefly Fun House." The show was hosted by Wyatt with puppets such as Mercy the Buzzard, Abby the Witch, Ramblin' Rabbit and Huskus the Pig joining in on the fun. Some episodes had kids sitting in on the set, looking like they would rather be anywhere else.
In the ring against Finn Balor at Summerslam, The Fiend displayed some of Wyatt's old moves, but this time though he appeared as if he was having some sort of conflict within himself. He finished Balor off by applying the Mandible Claw. My first thought was why didn't Balor come to the ring as The Demon. That would have upped the level of crazy!
From what I have been reading, The Fiend will not be appearing regularly on television to create a more special mystique. He did show up on the small screen before this match to attack Balor and Mick Foley, to build up interest in the character. Every moment from his entrance to his in-ring performance to his maniacal laugh in the dark while exiting was special. Be on the lookout for The Fiend and when you see him next, LET HIM IN.
