"My Flower" written MANY years ago while I was still in High School

My Soul is a Unique Flower

That God has planted
and cultivated all my life
Parts of it have died and shed off;
Others have sickened and grown well again
According to His will.

I don't need anyone to tell me
That I must prune off the
Parts of my flower which
Don't resemble theirs.

I can make MYSELF sick
and even die...

But, God is the Gardener
and He is there to help me,
And, with His help, I will grow
And change everyday into something
New and wonderful-
Something which the world
May never have seen before
And may never see again...

So, love me and enjoy me while
you can-Today and tomorrow
are between God and Me
