Why not take the chance!

Leadership isn't just by mouth, but actions at work. It's a pity seeing most people especially youth running far away from responsibilities. They don't want to be weighed down by anything, being task nor anyone, yet they want to be called leaders! They have forgetting the fact that leadership comes with a lot of responsibilities and task needed to be performed. They think all they have to do as leader, is to pose and give commands anyhow while looking down on people and trampled upon justice. PhotoPictureResizer_191203_230205340_crop_1982x3141.jpg

If all you do is to keep running away from challenges when you're supposed to be proving yourself worthy to be termed a leader then, don't be surprised when opportunities start flying far away from you and locating the diligent and responsible ones.

Sometimes people purposely give us some tasks to see how accountable and reliable we can be, And when we've failed the test, then we are counted off from the few names of true leaders.

I have a friend back on secondary school day, I could still remember vividly how our teachers loved him then due to his ability to make himself visible any time tasks are being given out.

He became one of the few students teachers want to handle their errands, bags and offices. There was a time i confronted him to ask why he was always called upon and i found out that they trusted him as he was always reedy to be of help since then I had tried to my best to be in position of helping people out. He volunteer works so serious that sometimes i asked him to slow down and always take a break. But he was so eager to grow and learn more.

Guess what? It paid off big time! He became versatile in things he couldn't have known if he didn't step out to take the lead. He started getting recommendations and being used as example for other students. There was no outing he wasn't called upon.

On this fateful day, he had an accident on his way to school which affected his leg and made him look for support whenever he wanted to walk or do anything. I took charge with many other students wanting to help him.

When our teachers heard about this incident, they all compassed themselves in the clinic where he was rushed. They all rally round him. After the medication and all, he was taken to school and brought to the principal's office. The principal was kind of furious at the teachers for leaving their duty posts and going where only God knows (she wasn't aware of my accident yet). After learning about the accident we could see the feeling of remorse written all over her face. She had no other choice than to let the teachers off the hook.

When all the teachers had left him with her, she drew closer to him, "Blessing can you see the payment of being a good kid? Even our teachers that have never taught him a single subject surrounded him as if he was their son. Hold on to your good behavior and you'll see how great it'll pay you! " said the principal.

What am I saying in essence here? Why did I take my time in sharing this story of a friend? It was because I learnt a lot from him.

lesson: People only recommend people who have proved themselves worthy of being called a leader. If you're able to be trusted, forget it, you'll forever make it in life.
