The power of man..

মানুষের ক্ষমতা নিয়ে অনেক উঁচু ধারণা রাখতেন স্টিফেন হকিং। তাঁর বিশ্বাস সবসময়েই বেশ মজবুত ছিল মানুষের উপরে যার প্রমাণ তিনি দিয়ে গিয়েছেন নিচের বাণীগুলোর মাধ্যমে:

1. “We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special.”

1. “In my opinion, there is no aspect of reality beyond the reach of the human mind.”

2. “I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road.”

আজীবন ভালবেসে গিয়েছেন যেই বিজ্ঞানকে সেই বিজ্ঞানকে নিয়ে বলে যাওয়া উক্তি:

1. “Science will win, because it works.”

2. “Science is not only a disciple of reason but, also, one of romance and passion.”

3. “I believe there are no questions that science can’t answer about a physical universe.”

4. “Science can lift people out of poverty and cure disease. That, in turn, will reduce civil unrest.”

স্টিফেন হকিং বিশ্বাস করতেন যে এই মহাজগতে সত্যিই এলিয়েনদের অস্তিত্ব রয়েছে। জীবনে বহুবার তিনি তাঁর কথা দিয়ে এ বিশ্বাসকে মজবুত করেছেন। পৃথিবীর জীব ছাড়া মহাজগতে বর্তমান অন্যান্য জীব নিয়ে তাঁর বলে যাওয়া কিছু কথা:

1. “If aliens visit us, the outcome would be much as when Columbus landed in America, which didn’t turn out well for the Native Americans.”

2. “I believe alien life is quite common in the universe, although intelligent life is less so. Some say it has yet to appear on planet Earth.”

3. “To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational. The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like.”
   মৃত্যুকে কখনোই ভয় পাননি তিনি। মৃত্যু নিয়ে ২০১১ সালে বলে যাওয়া তাঁর উক্তি:

“I have lived with the prospect of an early death for the last 49 years. I’m not afraid of death, but I’m in no hurry to die. I have so much I want to do first”.

সারপ্রাইজের কথা বলছিলাম। স্টিফেন হকিং এর এত শত উক্তির ভীড়ে সেই সারপ্রাইজটা কী হারিয়েই গেল? মোটেও না।

জীবদ্দশায় বিশ্ববাসীকে হাজারো সারপ্রাইজ উপহার দেয়া জবস পরপারেও সে সুযোগ ছাড়েন নি। আইনস্টাইনের ভ্রুকূটির জবাবে তিনি বললেন,

একজন মানুষ নড়তে পারেন না, কথা বলার সামর্থ্যটুকুও নেই, তবুও শুধু নিজ চিন্তাধারা দিয়ে ব্যাপক অবদান রেখে গেলেন আমাদের মাঝে।

দিন পার হবে, আবারো কোন একদিন আসবে ১৪ই মার্চ। আইনস্টাইনের জন্মদিনের সাথে সারা দুনিয়া পালন করবে হকিংসের মৃত্যুদিন। কিন্তু আসলেই কি তিনি বিদায় নিলেন আমাদের মাঝ থেকে?
