18 was a dreaded number in the land of Aztec because it is the number of the fiery Ilityre. It has been foretold that this vengeful god will bring calamity on the plains of Aztec when the blood moon rises on the 18th.
Another prophecy was decreed that if an unusual event can take place before the foretold appearance of the blood moon, Ilityre could be vanquished into the abyss.
Saber was with child when this prophecy was uttered and she hoped her child would be the unusual event that would avert this impending calamity. Eventually, Saber gave birth to a girl with a flute in hand. When the priestess saw this, she names her Sophie and she became marked as the deliverer of her people.
20 years later, on the day of the blood moon, it fell on the 18th, Ilityre strove to wipe away the land with her fiery breath but Sophie blew her flute with a full blast creating a pitch that unruffled Ilityre and she was drawn to the abyss, saving Aztec. Although Sophie lost her life in the process, the flute became her legacy for all to remember.
