Deciding to go to the movies, to dinner or shopping are easy everyday choices that are pleasurable and satisfying. The hard decisions are associated with sad feelings, like knowing that one is letting someone down or worrying over whether it is right or not.
Maybe it is due to not wanting to be seen doing the wrong thing so ifs and buts constantly invade our thoughts. Can I morally make this decision and feel that I have done the right thing? Or will I berate myself afterwards?
They are emotionally laden and have a way of weighing heavily on one's heart. Unfortunately putting of making decisions does not work in the long run. The issues do not go away, because it is only a delay. Only coming to a resolution does this!
Is it being cowardly when not wanting to face the reality of choosing one way or other?
Have you heard friends or family say that, "even though it was a hard choice to make and after a long and hard period of reflection we are so happy that we did it. We wonder why it was so hard and now we berate ourselves for not making it earlier."
It is such a human trait and it is about letting go of the familiar, of something we love, of saying goodbye. Shifting house is like this, knowing that it is going to take place and wanting it to happen but very sad at leaving a community of good friends. Leaving a happy workplace for a career move is another. You know it is going to be good in the long run, it is so hard to let go and say goodbye.
Whatever the unique decision one has to make it seems that "looking back and looking forward" is the obligatory road to travel before walking through the door!

Cheers and Blessings

I recently watched a short clip on Instagram by Gary Vaynerchuk that was exactly on this topic. I also agree with him. He said we, as humans, are always wrong. There is no right choice. Whatever we choose, we should move on with it and not look back or overthink. We don't know for sure what could have happened if we'd chosen the other way. We should choose based on our own gut feeling, don't care about others' judgments, and move forward.

So straightforward isn't it @ilink if we do not get caught up with analysing the ifs and buts.

I'm terrible about putting off hard decisions, I turn into the king of procrastination! But that's a gorgeous selection from that coffee shop!

I found you janton, sorry. And hello to you. I have been off Steemit for 2 days and am very happy to be back. It was a a lovely coffee shop in Richmond. I wonder if they use the section hanging up?

What were you doing for 2 days, babysitting and traveling? I think the hanging up section looks too valuable and rare to use but maybe not.

I agree. Janton, we have decided at the last moment to travel to South America for a cruise to Antartica starting the 6 November. There was a lot to do in a short time, like medical visit and travel arrangements. I plan to take my Mac and post if the wifi works of course.

Oh how exciting! That is going to be fantastic. You will have so many great photos to post. Is that expensive to take a cruise like that?

Yes, it is but is a once in a lifetime trip. I heard today that a couple paid $100,000 Australian for an Antarctic cruise. Not sure the length of the cruise or how cruises they fitted in while in South America. Sounds very expensive and we definitely did not pay this janton.

Well this may not be just a once in a life opportunity if the price of steem goes to $100! lol.
