Keeping myself accountable

A new resolution

I can't remember the last time I finished a book. Since I got into college, I haven't had much time to do recreational reading. That's why this 2018, I vow to bring back that old habit.

What I'm going to do:

Starting this February (because we all know January was just a trial session for 2018), what I'm going to do is read at least 1 book per month, take the time to absorb what I've learned from each one, then I'll write a review/reflection about it just to keep myself accountable.

Progress

A few days back, I started reading one of Mitch Albom's works, The Time Keeper, which he published in 2012. It's about a man who, in the book, discovered world's most valuable measurement - time - and eventually he became Father Time (I'll leave it at that in case you haven't read it yet). It's quite a short reading, consisted of only 222 pages which is a nice place to start if you're like me who's trying to ease her way into the world of literature. Right now, I'm about halfway through it so I'm pretty sure I'd be able to write about it in a week or so. :)

Do you guys have any suggestions which book I should read next?

(Disclaimer: I'm not gonna lie, I still have to go a long way to be a decent book critic. Of course I've written a few reviews in grade school, high school and even in college. So please bear with me if I (for a lack of a better term) suck at the moment.)

Glad to hear you're on your way back to reading books! Reading for me is my respite amidst all the stress of life.

While The Time Keeper is not Mitch Albom's best book (in my opinion), it still has a lot of insights and lessons which its readers can reflect on. If you are into inspirational or motivational books, I'd recommend works by Paulo Coelho, Yann Martel, and Rick Warren.

If you want to explore other genres, just let me know. I might be able to recommend some of my favorite books. :) Happy reading!
