Scammers who sold a fake box for 1.7 million dollars were paid with fake money
If a contest had been held for the title of the most unfortunate swindlers in history, perhaps two men from Spain would have every opportunity to win it. In 2003, they agreed to sell a fake painting that was supposedly a Goya work, but, in reality, it was just a copy of the portrait of the Spanish painter Antonio María Esquivel.
The buyer, a "rich Arab sheik", acted through an intermediary who, in turn, asked the unfortunate sellers a commission of 300 thousand euros. Interestingly, the scammers did not realize that it was a trap, borrowed this amount from a friend and went to close the "deal of the century".
Initially, the Spaniards tried to sell the painting for 4 million Swiss francs, but, in the end, they only received 1.7 million in this currency (which is approximately 1.7 million USD), however the money turned out to be false, just like than your merchandise The men were arrested when they tried to deposit false bills in a bank account in Geneva, the mediator, who had escaped with the "commission", was never found. public
A Canadian who got lost in the woods damaged a power line so that the repair team could find and save him
A resident of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan was fishing in his boat when a storm suddenly broke out over the lake. The boat was taken to a place completely unknown to the fisherman where it was trapped in the bushes. The man could not get out of the middle of nowhere alone, he was exhausted and had no idea where he was. In desperation, he made an unusual decision: cut the power line poles with the help of his ax and wait for the helicopter to arrive with a repair brigade.
His expectations came true: the helicopter arrived and the man was saved. It is true that he later had to pay a fine for damage to the post and for the fact that residents of several towns were left without electricity for 30 hours. But life costs more than any fine, right?
There is a grape variety that tastes like cotton candy
Source
A group of growers in California obtained a variety of grapes that has 12% more sugar than normal grapes, and almost no acidity. It took 12 years to get it, and in 2013, the new variety went on sale.
This grape looks and smells like ordinary grapes, but its flavor almost does not differ from cotton candy. Grower David Kane believes that such fruit will be an excellent alternative to the usual sweets. amazing

I like it, great stories which tickle my sense of humour. I had a good chuckle over the double fake, if done enough it may well stop many scams. Good bit of research would like to know the source.
