Are we alone in the Universe? I want to believe we are not.

Since I was a kid I have always been fascinated by the idea that we might not be alone in the Universe. I remember my grandpa used to buy a UFO magazine for me and my brother (Reporte OVNI) and I would read it all in one go believing every single word from it. The idea that we are the only form of life is really selfish and short minded, in my opinion. Just thinking that there might be other civilizations out there developing somewhere in the Universe blows my mind big time. I like to imagine there are many different forms of life, but thanks to Steven Spielberg we tend to associate extraterrestrial life with E.T. , a funny looking creature, but the possibilities are endless.

I think there could be plenty forms of life, from microscopical ones to creatures similar to the ones from Men In Black (the movie). Am I naive? Am I too influenced by Hollywood and its interpretation of extraterrestrial life? Maybe. But I like to think there is something going on out there. Lots of people, if not the majority of the world, believe in a form of "God" that is watching us from above and judging our acts. Well... since I do not buy the religious story, I like to put my faith in what I think is more likely to be the real deal.

There are so many theories and conspiracy theories around that it is tough to pick one to believe in. So I keep an open mind, I believe in all of them and in none of them at the same time. That is contradictory, isn´t it? Well I am a human and its in our nature to contradict ourselves. But my point is that I like to hear about different theories without judging them, many of them have some valid points, in my opinion. Who knows the truth about this topic? Nobody, period. Science can have all the tools available and media support, but still... they can´t confirm anything, Its all pure speculation.

In my early teens, and because of my fascination with extraterrestrial life, my mother (I mean... Santa) gifted me and my brother a telescope. It was a cheap one but still pretty decent for a kid. We (me and my brother) used to spend hours on end staring at the starry sky... looking for some strange activity. And we did get some, a few times we spotted a "light" moving in non orbital motion, from here to there. We were genuinely puzzled, since we had no clue what that could have been.

Then again in my early teens I had the pleasure to have dinner with my family together with Favio Zerpa. He is a Ufologist from Uruguay who spent half of his life researching the UFO phenomenon, a charming character with lots of interesting stories and anecdotes. Talking with him only made me believe more in this subject, since he spoke with such confidence that he was really convincing.

So... to sum up, I have no conclusion at all. I am still clueless about what is happening out there, just like everyone else. I think it is a matter of conviction or faith, if you want to believe or not. I definitely do believe, and hope to some day have an experience that will prove me right.

The universe is too big to say we're alone. That's being selfish, I think. We only just started discovering evidence of planets orbiting other stars. It's only a matter of time before we discover something like life. It might just be grass, and that's fine. Travelling these distances is nearly impossible though. I find it hard to believe we've been visited by something with intelligence but at the same time, I've seen things in the sky that are almost impossible to write off as mere coincidences.

Wow thats really interesting! What have you seen in the sky? I die to know.

I wrote about it awhile ago. Here's a bit from that post.

Lastly, two years ago. Again, I was with my children. We were enjoying the lake. Their grandparents own a nice cabin there. Beautiful place. Evening walks were a common thing. The three of us were just strolling along, having a conversation, nothing unusual. Until an orange ball of light appeared low in the sky. I noticed right away, pointed it out and asked them to stop walking. Our perspective was blocked by trees and cabins to the right of us, which was south. We were facing east. Looking north and east, we had a clear line of sight. Wide open sky. Another orange ball appears, again coming from the south behind all these trees heading north. These things are bright but don't illuminate anything around them. The first one stops, the second one stops. Two more of these orange balls of light come from the same direction, same heading. It's like were traveling single file. All four hung around for a little while in our view to the east. All four then began heading east. One by one, nearly single file. The first would disappear on the horizon, then the second, third, then fourth. So what's that all about?

Another report of something we can´t explain and the governments and secret agencies don't want to.
In my opinion we found already something outside our planet, but if it was released to public, people would freak out(panic), especially if "they" are smarter/stronger/bigger than us.
Like I said in my comment, there are to many reports like this one to only be a coincidence, years after years, and the first report was registered when the first nuclear bomb exploded.

Great to read about your life story, sir. Lots of love and respects. I am a staunch believer in God but I don't believe in UFOS etc. I guess these are jus conspiracies maybe.

yes your believe is true

ah .. I believe in the existence of other life forms since my young age. Even this is my secret passion. I'm investigating aliens each time hoping to find something new :)
I wanted to be an astronaut when I was young.
The people around me warned me that girls could not be astronauts.
And then I believed it. This was a big disappointment ...
When I grew up, I was actually more frustrated when I learned that I could be an astronaut: D
I left my dreams behind when I was small.
I like your writing very much. Congratulations, Bruno.

I think intelligent life other than humans exists. The universe is huge and it's impossible for other life forms not to exist. But because the universe is so big it's unlikely that other beings will be able to find us. Unless they've developed sophisticated technology that allows them to detect life and travel faster than the speed of light (through wormholes or something) they most likely will never find Earth. If they have that technology already, why would they bother visiting our small unassuming planet?

I want to believe in that too, we can´t say we are alone, because we know nothing about the Universe, some espacialists think that because they got to the moon and made some discoveries outside our galaxy, we are alone, but the true is that a lot of people have sighted UFOs, and being their history completely true or not, there are thousands of those reports.

We, humans, assume that the universe is infinite, so there is no possible reason for anyone to think that we are alone in this vast universe.

We are not alone, UFOs are real but you need to see them to believe it. Or else it will be forever speculation. So if you really want to know that you need to look up and search for them, and you will see them, but you need to know to what you need to focus on, but i can give you some advice because im a researcher and investigator who observe the phenomena.

First, the best moment to search for them is right after sunset, on clear skies only.
Second, dont look for flying saucers, look for lights in the sky, what look like the planet venus but then smaller.
And third, prepared yourself by keeping your mind open and release your fear's and forget everything from the movie.
A UFO is completly different then what you might have heard or read from them. For more info check my page.

No im not crazy, why would it be crazy when someone tells you to look to the sky with no fear and with a open mind on a clear sky?

@dontstopmenow, I believe it to be naive to think that we are alone in this vast universe. The UFO'S we see may be real and from far outer space and some of them may technology developed right here on earth, who knows! but there is no doubt in my mind that we are not alone! just not so sure I would like to meet them they may be scary looking! lol
