The other day while reading a summary of news, including that of the terrible attack perpetrated in Barcelona by that gang of intransigent, brainless and fanatics of Allah calling themselves ISIS (Islamic State), I remembered the Paris attack attributed to the same group of «illiterates of the desert».

Unlike the Barcelona bombing where 16 people have died and more than 100 injured, in Paris there were more than 130 dead and 350 wounded.

Both outrages are equally disgusting but certainly the one in Paris shocked most people in the world, if possible, given their fateful bloody wingspan.

That horrible date, as everyone knows, was a Friday, November 13th, 2015.

However, we are not here to treat throughly with such unfortunate attacks.

Casually (or not), that another sad and aberrant event comes to my mind; do you guess on what day of what month it happened?

The case of Alcácer girls, where three girls aged 14 and 15, Desiré, Miriam and Toñi, hitchhiking to a discotheque, were kidnapped, raped, tortured with anger and shot in the head a Friday, November 13th, 1992.

The last thing known about the girls was that they got into a white car; 75 days after their disappearance their corpses were found half buried in a mountainous place.

The identity of all culprits is still unknown; one of the alleged perpetrators and leaders of the crime, Antonio Anglés, is still missing and in international search and capture; one of the accomplices, Miguel Ricart, was captured and sentenced to 170 years in prison of those who only turned 20 years; he's currently at large.

That same night, in another part of Spain, specifically in the Aravaca neighborhood in Madrid, the 32-year-old Dominican Lucrecia Perez was killed by two bullets at the side (one of them directly at the heart) while having dinner by candlelight with her partner in a Latin restaurant.

The murder was led by a Guardia Civil, Luis Merino Pérez, 25 years old, who took accomplices to 3 children under 16 to perpetrate the events.

The reasons for this event? That the victims were, in the mouth of their executioners, «invaders» and «fucking blacks»

The judge ruled a sentence of 54 years in prison for the Civil Guard and 20 years of reclusion for the minors, as well as a compensation of 20,000,000 pesetas for Lucrecia's daughter.

This case that I show them is considered as the first official case of racism and xenophobia with fatalities in Spain.

Outside our borders, the country of Colombia suffered one of the deadliest catastrophes of the 20th century on a Wednesday, November 13th, 1985.

Known as the Armero tragedy, 23,000 people died and 5,000 were injured due to the volcanic eruption of Nevado del Ruiz.

It has also been the fourth most deadly eruption since the year 1500.

In Long Island, United States, a creepy renowned fact happened in another Wednesday, November 13th, 1974.

We talk about the real case in which they inspired the novel and movie "The Amityville Horror".

As brief summary, the mansion was reputed to be haunted due to the witchcraft practices and death rituals of its original builder John Catchum.

Many families tried to live in it because of its cheap price and breadth, but the truth is that they all only lasted a few weeks.

Until the DeFeo family settled in; It was then that one night, without major symptom of previous disorder, the oldest son Ronald DeFeo, shot and killed his parents and four brothers and proceeded to live normal the next day.

In the judgement he argued that voices coming from inside the house had forced him to do so.

He was sentenced from 25 years in prison to life imprisonment for each of the murders.

In East Pakistan (present-day Bangladesh) an unprecedented tropical cyclone devastated the Ganges Delta on Friday, November 13th, 1970.

It is known as Bhola cyclone and, killing more than 500,000 people in one night, is considered the deadliest cyclone ever recorded and one of the most destructive natural disasters of modern times.

Its maximum registered speed was 240 km/h reaching an equivalence to category 3 in the scale of hurricanes.
