What we all want

I’ve been addicted to poetry for the last few weeks or months, I don’t really know how long this has been going on. It is my great escape. This is yet another poem, I hope you enjoy it.

We all want someone to hold
We all wish we would never grow old
We all need a friend at the end of the day
We’re all messed up, but choose not to stay that way

We all want a life more than what we own
We all want to know that we will never be alone
We all want security in our job and in our home
We all hope that someday we’ll find somebody to love

We all have demons
We all want peace
We all are searching
We all don’t see

We all need healing and rescue for our hearts
We all have been hurt and are falling apart
We all have scars and sins we try to hide
We all need a savior to keep us alive

Throw me a lifeline
God hear me now
I’m trapped in myself
And I can’t get out

My life is a lie
And selfishly I
Put me before them
And left loved ones to die

I don’t want what I want
I don’t know what I want
But I can’t keep hurting
The one’s I claim to love

I’ve lied to myself
Now I need a rescue
Save me please God
I surrender to You

Else I die, I will die to self. Lest I live, I will live for Him.

Nice work!!!

I resteemed and upvoted this poem. It's true, we all just want that closeness to another being that we all just crave unconditionally. I am also sharing this to facebook and other media sources. Thank you for this beautiful poem.
