Rising up the ranks on Steemit gets harder the higher up you go. Moving from level 25 to level 30 is easier than moving from 35 to 40 and so on. I know you can't necessarily tell by looking at a few of the newer accounts. They seem to spend no time at all at newbie status before they reach those higher ranks. Some of them come in with built in followings but part of it is due to consistency.
I haven't always been the most consistent poster and while I fully believe in the long term potential of Steem, that hasn't stopped me from taking lengthy breaks when I feel like it. Here's a secret: I'm not that into social media. In the year or so that I've been on Steemit, I've posted and commented more than in the almost 10 years I've been on Facebook (by a lot). And while it's been fun, it's still something that doesn't come naturally to me.
So for me, reaching level 60 feels amazing. Right this moment I'm giving myself a mental high five for finally getting here (it felt like I was stuck at level 59 forever)! And thanks to everyone who read my stuff, upvoted and commented. How long will it take me to reach level 70? I have no clue. None whatsoever. But I'm going to enjoy my progress as it comes.
