I WAS IN CHURCH BEFORE THE PRIEST EVER DID...

This morning, I woke up late. I had slept late the previous night due to some table work. I had thought I would be late to church. But no, I sped up along the line, hastened some things and skipped the ones which could be skipped.

At last, I was early to church and I missed nothing from what it used to be when I was not in a rush.

You see, in attaining the height you wish for yourself, you must be ready to leave some things behind, skip some, and take up some others to meet up.

Are their things you think you cannot let go of?

Are there challenges you think you cannot take up?

Well, have you got a brain behind what you do and aspire to become?

Have you soaked yourself in some deep learning in your niche for exceptional honing and overhaul?

These will go a long way in helping you achieve in one month, what would have taken a year, making the shore on the other side of the murky waters, seem closer, attainable, and even inspiring.

As a writer, you're eternally a learner. You may never know today what or how you're going to write tomorrow, the words you'll be using, or how well you'll stitch and hem your words.

You keep learning your craft, skipping, adopting and taking action. And when you get better at writing, that's a chance to write better and learn more.

Folks will applaud, others will criticise. Stay focused anyway. Milestones are just a mile away.

I'm back now.

Were you early to church today?
