PATIENCE HAS BEEN MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD

in writing •  7 years ago

In all those years, she had been praised as one who was strong and firm, uncompromising and unyielding.

To many, she was a personification of strength due to the manner in which she handled issues and stayed put until the end was reached.

Recall that she had an issue with someone sometime ago, someone who pushed her into signing an agreement she had little or no time to peruse. On a later date, that same person could not oblige a similar request of hers on grounds of having to have a critical look at what the request was about before appending a signature.

That experience had me thinking how young people hated her so much but praised her in ignorant disguise.

Just as one would have rightly guessed that she might be killed at the slightest chance, plans were actually underway.

Would the killing of Patience be said to be an age-driven or personality-driven mishap? Isn't it pitiable that we murdered a virtuous personality? What would become of those, whom she left behind?

Well, we may not accept our mistakes, but we shall definitely live with its consequences.

Patience; Oh Patience!

The young want to make it big without doing stuff and exercising patience unto their dreams, which keep passing through a process.

Building unto our gifts patiently, showing love to our gifts and desisting from suffocating them, are all tedious.

We want someone to get on something and we want it now and now.

We get angered; and we bark back now and now.

We suspect our spouses of infidelity, and we stab them now and now.

Many get trapped in the process, and we hastily pass judgement now and now.

Many die in their escapades, and we condemn them now and now.

Patience got murdered anyway. Her only crime was keeping us in check so that we stayed away from trouble.

She wronged us by making us more patient in our dealings.

We murdered her; murderers of the new age.

Rather than just eulogize Patience, we could resurrect her, never to kill her again.

Patience is a virtue; a sticky rocky virtue.

Patience is love.

Not that I'll never be in a hurry or impatient ever again... but I'm forever now going to have momentary glimpses of homocide whenever I am... which may help curb that feeling in favour of freedom and less jail time!

Great piece!

Sure @monopolytile.

That momentary retreat would certainly do a great job. And if practised regularly, could become a good habit.

Thanks for reading through and sharing your thoughts.

@evalsblog. Your title was shocking at first. My heart was about pumping up when I read "Patience" ..... that's my middle name tho.

Your piece is emotional. It cuts across my spine as I read through to the last word.

Truly, Patience is virtue. Its a proverbial phrase referring to one of the seven heavenly virtues typically said to date back to "Psychomachia," an epic poem written in the fifth century.

When we're patient, we wait the best moment to act. When we act on the spur of the moment, chances are that our emotions will undermine us rather than help us.

Cooling off and assessing when to make a move is key to success.

On the other hand, when some people want something, they want it now. They demand to have it now. They don't have time to wait. They will take what they can get now, rather than waiting a little for something better. We're all equally guilty of wanting something immediately, or sooner rather than later.

Did you say Patience is Love? Seriously, I'm hoping my love can just be patient enough to wait for me.

Patience is love.... lol

@healthylife
