Sorry so far.. Muslim Friends, Help!

I have a question for Muslim members of on steemit. This might sound quite absurd to ask but it's better to be safe than sorry.
.
One of my characters is a Muslim girl who wears a hijab.
.
Women wear it to conceal their beauty so as to not tempt men. Touch is something where things can get complicated. Females are allowed to be touched only by their future husband and immediate family.
.
Some hijab women will allow only a handshake, others will put a hand to their chest signifying that they are observing their tradition. That immediately tugged at my heartstrings.
.
I have had a few schoolmates who wore the full attire but by no means practiced it. They had boyfriends and were very handsy with them.
.
Some even hugged male friends and i was all shades of confused .
.
I felt like these specific girls were just dressed that way because their parents told them to do so. But I realise these select few aren't reliable representations and i won't generalise.
.
There are different girls and women out there who follow the word religiously.
.
Now for the question, if a Muslim girl who wears the hijab is observing her faith genuinely, is it forbidden for her to try something like online dating?

Ps: she is one of my character in a story

disclaimer ( not a pro, i was a super duper Muslim) well if she is observing her faith, she should not get involved in any kinds of relationship out of wedlock, anything that can leads to sin is forbidden.also it depends on the subreligion, you should consider that, some are less strict.

Oh thanks so much, this would really help!! You are awesome
