When Death came knocking

And I saw his heart break before my eyes. Arms dangling to the side, with the news wrapped around his throat, making it hard to breathe. Shocked in emotion. And as he paced, the thought of death sank into him like toxic venom, weakening him. His brain over analyzing all the memories of her. The last time he last saw her. Somehow wishing she was still here. Death is a cruel thing... The pain, the tears, the whisper of an ending. This was the pain that long lingered after funerals. Death had made sure not to leave a soul behind. It’s cold lips making sure it kissed each one goodbye. That pain was universal and ought to be felt by every living soul who ever loved, who loves, who is in love. That is the unbearable pain that everyone would eventually have to bear. The cost of caring and loving someone do deeply. And all one can do it try to run away and fail. Or accept it with every ounce of grief it abundantly gives.
